I am sure it has to do with hydration. Lube is fun stuff! This will be a good excuse to buy different kinds/flavors, etc.

@@CowgirlJane "Hell, at my age I am pretty stoked to find a guy who matches my libido...but I digress." I hear you! I am also guilty of narrowing the field down too soon as well. For instance, I am currently seeing this guy about once a week. He is a busy professional. I am in the middle of tax season. I happened to notice that he is still active on the dating site we met on (I see his name listed as online almost daily) Do I take that as a sign that he is less interested in me? I have friends telling me that is reason to kick him to the curb. I really like him and confronting him about it is not my style.

Milk: the Reason I Look Like a Heifer?
RILEYSMOM22 replied to careya123's topic in Food and Nutrition
I giggle a little every time I see this post listed... I don't drink as much milk as I used to, despite my dairy farm background. I do like Fairlife and I find I lose better when I consistantly use unsweetened almond milk in my coffee. However, when I get a craving, I just drink a glass of 1 or 2% and it satisfies me. -
Lymphedema Treatment
RILEYSMOM22 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Funny, I searched for Lymphedema on here just the other day. A Dr friend of mine suggested that might be what is going on with my left leg. It is swollen just above the ankle and has been for at least a year. I've had tests to rule out other issues. Mine isn't painful, but isn't attractive and annoying. I just want to wear cute boots!! -
If this wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious
RILEYSMOM22 replied to Sharon1964's topic in The Lounge
I haven't done that either. I feel that if I am still interested after the first couple dates, I need to give that relationship a chance to grow. That's difficult for me if I am seeing other men. -
The Best and the Worst: Your Weight Loss Surgery NON-MEDICAL Experience
RILEYSMOM22 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
One of the best: When my daughter said "I told Dad how you are losing tons of weight and that you look amazing." Her dad and I have been divorced since 2010. He was always very critical about my weight. One of the worst: When I was on a date with a guy and we talked about my surgery. He immediatly brought up skin removal surgery. I felt instantly unattractive. -

@@Sharon1964 So, we all know how shoe size supposedly relates to men.... what correlation was he proposing to make for women? Curious.... In your mind, how many dates constitutes a relationship? -
I had a short period show up for no good reason...(have not had one for a year) right after surgery. Hormones are being released from fat cells, I guess. Since then, back to menopause... yay!

Did they tell you to reintroduce your meds in a certain way? I am wondering if there is a diuretic effect that you might need to be mindful of after surgery. My BP was good in the hospital and I haven't taken any of my old meds since surgery.

Is Your Love Life on Hold While You Lose Weight?
RILEYSMOM22 replied to JupiterinVirgo's topic in The Lounge
I have not put it on hold, but I have struggled with whether and when to tell them. The man I am seeing now is a physician and I told him while we were still chatting online, before we met in person. We've gone out a half dozen times and he has been very supportive of the weight loss, and knows I will need skin surgery eventually. I have told others at the first meeting. Sometimes they vanish soon after. I would rather it happen early on, before I get attached. -
That wildly exciting, smitten feeling you get when you find you have chemistry with someone is largely that, chemistry...it is biochemical. That doesn't make it any less real, though. I believe you truly love someone when you find you are putting their needs before your own (and its nice when its reciprocal)... when you can trust him with your heart. I also don't believe there is a timeline.

How Do You Like to Be Complimented?
RILEYSMOM22 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Most of the people in my life know I have had WLS. I'm an accountant and as tax season begins, there will be lots of clients who haven't seen me in a year. Although it is difficult for me to get irritated with someone who starts a conversation with "You look great....". I occasionally find the "How did you do it?" question annoying. Sometimes I say "I had bariatric surgery." knowing they will have to go home and google "bariatric". Other times, when I'm feeling particularly snarky, I say "I had 85% of my stomach removed." with no further explanation. -
It has always been my philosophy that true friends don't keep score. However, I have also ended up feeling as you do (usually with family). When you feel that you have given and given, and then you need just this one favor and they can't come through for you, it sucks. Its not like you were asking for a kidney! But, you have to let it go. Call it a learning experience and move on. Decide if your life is better with this person in it, or not. If it isn't, then distance yourself.

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all
RILEYSMOM22 replied to Adina's_Journey's topic in The Gals' Room
Given the cost of surgery, it really shoud include a free brazilian wax..... However, there was no mention of it for my WLS, nor when I had my hip replaced. -
How Do You Like to Be Complimented?
RILEYSMOM22 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Babbs I also will take a compliment any way it comes. I have gotten "OMG, you are shrinking!" and also, a simple "wow, you look great!" However, my very favorite was "Mom, you look great, we are so proud of you!" -
Friday NSV roll call!
RILEYSMOM22 replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wearing a sweater that wasn't "plus size"!! -
I had a check-up with my surgeon this week and mentioned the hair loss. They said that people take Biotin, etc. and I can try that, but most often, the hair loss lessens when the weight loss slows down. At this rate, I will be extremely scalpy by the time I am 1 yr post-op. On the upside, I got into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in 15 yrs, and I look hot in them (according to my daughters).

Hiccups are my signal to stop eating. I have learned to just stop as soon as they start.
-
For what it's worth, I had pretty bad acid reflux prior to the sleeve and have not had issues with it since surgery. I am 4 mos post surgery and I can eat just over 1/4 cup of food at a time. Fried food makes me a little queasy, even in small quantities. Other than that and some hair loss, I have no issues.

Second-Level Appeal - Any Luck?
RILEYSMOM22 replied to livvsmum's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I didn't realize that was something they would ever cover. I was told that it is cosmetic and insurance companies won't even consider it. Good Luck with your appeal. -
I sent one of my sons a recent pic of me. He said "where did that come from?" I answered "My phone" He said "I thought it was a picture from when I was little." He is 29. I told him that he is now my favorite child.
