  1. I had surgery on 8/31/15. I'm doing great. I've lost 25 lbs as of 9/27/15. I started at 314 back in May and lost 23 lbs before surgery. So, I'm down 48 lbs since May. I tolerate all foods really well. I just got advanced to stage 3 on 9/25/15. So far, I have been fine with whatever I eat. I chew food well (even though it's soft) and eat slowly. The only thing that bothered me was caffeine. They told me not to have caffeine, but I didn't know the 4C brand of iced tea mixes had it in there. It gave me heartburn really bad. I switched back to plan water and I've been fine since. I now make sure everything I drink is decaf. I do take Pepcid twice a day as prescribed.

    My Doctor faked my surgery!

I've had a really easy time too. I had no pain meds and my stomach just felt normal. My stomach muscles were sore for about 4 days afterward, but that's it. I have been able to drink 48 ounces of water per day, 3 protein shakes a day and my soups and yogurts. They just advanced me to stage 3. Doing well!

    Frustrated!

CowgirlJane has it exactly right. Cut out some carbs and change up your exercise routine. That's what my personal trainer said and it works.

This is me 3 weeks after surgery. My face really slimmed down quick. Down 20 lbs in 3 weeks post-surgery.

This was me in July 2015 at 295 pounds. About 1 month before my sleeve gastrectomy surgery.

    2 days to go.

Congrats! I just had surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I'm doing great! The hospital stay was no big deal. I have had no nausea and sipped the broth, ate the jello and sipped the water slowly. I was fine. No pain either. I hope for the same for you all. Good luck and do what the nurses tell you. Getting up and walking often throughout the day really made me feel better too. I even stood up to watch tv for short periods at a time. Felt better than laying in bed.

    Can I have regular coffee?

I'm 2 weeks out from surgery and I had been drinking sugar free iced tea mixes in my water. I didn't realize they had caffeine and I had horrible acid reflux even while taking the prescribed Pepcid. My instructions say decaffeinated coffee for preventing dehydration and acid reflux. Oops!
