How long after I eat can I get a fill?
Laurinda replied to shark23's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was never told a time frame to not eat before a fill...hmmmm. I will ask for sure. *As personal choice I never eat the day of a fill, before or after, but I would like to know what the doc has to say about that. -

HELP with Pre Op Bowel Cleanse...
Laurinda replied to Debski's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Man I am glad I didn't have to deal with this part. It really is funny how surgeons are different! -
Learning to eat slow is easier then you think (laughing) one good stuck and it stays with you ( the concept of slow eating) Chew to a paste~ when in doubt chew some more Don't socialize while eating~ I am not good company at the table. If I get into a conversation I tend to forget what I am doing and either eat to fast, to much or don't chew as well as I should Eat S-L-O-W~ Yes you can become bored when eating because it does take so long. I laugh because I used to eat when I was bored...now I get bored while eating :whatchutalkingabout

Would you guys recommend trying to do all liquid diet LONG before surgery? Ideas?
Laurinda replied to jessicakolman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally and only PERSONALLY I don't feel you should try a liquid diet before you have to. This is my reason. It is much, much different when you have to verse just because. My pre-diet was 14 days of protein shakes and liquids. I promise you the fact that surgery was at the end of this diet was the only thing that keep me going, I had a goal and I knew if I did not do what I HAD to do I would not reach my goal. -
I ditto what Shoeaddict had to say. Good-Luck to you!!!!!

I found it is a store called Fresh Market. I have never looked for it in a health food store but I'm thinking it may be found there also.

How did you come up with a "goal weight" or have you?
Laurinda posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
How did you come up with a "goal weight" or have you? I am asked all the time how much weight I want to lose or what my "goal" is. I have to be honest...I don't have a "goal" number. When I tell people this they look at me like I'm crazy. I put a goal in the ticker box to be able to post but <shrug> I am goal free, at least when it comes to numbers. Did you know right away what you wanted to claim as "goal" or did you kinda figure it out as you went along? I kinda feel like I want to see the scale it 199 <laughing> once I am under 200 maybe a "goal" will seem more feasible. It's not that I don't care, I care very much, I just for one don't wanna be caught up in the head trip numbers game and two I haven't been under 200 in so long I'm not sure my brain cells can compute. I am very happy with the way things are going and want to continue the downward slope. I was just wondering if any one else feels the way I do or am I crazy? -
help...worried. is this normal?
