Hi, I'm Jess and I'm ready to become a bander!
Laurinda replied to Sylina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey there Jess! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I don't know anything about your doctor but I wanted to say hello and good-luck! Take care -
Hey Cathy and welcome I think it really is a personal choice. Keep researching to find the one that you think will work best for you. Good-Luck on your journey!

Such a small world I am in the Doctor's Lake area. My kids are about grown. My son graduated high school in May and my daughter starts the 10th grade Monday. How interesting it would be if there was a small mini local group that got together from time to time. Ya'll take care

Hello all I have been posting for awhile and never knew this thread was here. Duh to me. Susan I see you used Dr. Herrera...Dr. Chappano ( Love him) Do you ever go to the local Lap Band Support group meetings at the hospital? I have not yet but am interested. Work and the meeting time don't always mix well for me lol

Sleep apnea for me meant I had to stay over night in the hospital instead of an out pt surgery.

What do you need to lose the 13 lbs for? I would think with the lap band or any other WLS you have you should be able to go lower then 200lbs! Oh btw welcome to the board It's a great place to read and learn Good-luck to you! -

How are people losing such a large amount of weight?
Laurinda replied to Long2BFree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure a lot has to do with starting weight. Don't forget the larger you are the more you seem to lose at first. On my pre-op liquid diet I lost 20 lbs. I have a friend who is much smaller, that lost 8 lbs on her liquid pre-op. -
< thumbs up> GREAT job!!! Congrats to you !

If I am having a craving I eat it. I mean I don't lose my mind but if I want a cookie I have it, ice cream I have some, candy bar...well I haven't wanted one of those yet. All I am saying is if you want something ,have some in moderation. You have done very well in your weight and if you want a little something I think it's ok. I am sure there are ppl that will not agree with me but <shrug> I am 85 pounds down and very happy with my success so I don't think I am WAY off base :tongue_smilie: lol If you are eating ONLY because your bored then I can see where that could cause a problem. Since you just had your gallbladder out working out isn't really an option for you. Maybe read a good book? Get a ton of rag mag's!!! lol Rent a movie or when all else fails SLEEP!!!! If you are still feeling the need to munch maybe slice up a bell pepper real thin( Or veggie of your choice) and have some ranch dressing, it will give you the feeling you have a bowl of "something" to munch on. I am not sure what you can have with your gallbladder out. Maybe some fat free crackers....will still give you the feeling of munching on something  You really have done GREAT so far!!! Good-Luck to you!

Bless your heart I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Lawdy Mercy! You said you have an appointment next week with the doctor but maybe you should put a call into the office now. I know everyone is different and maybe it is just taking you longer to heal but....when in doubt dial those digits! Good-Luck to you!

I know what you mean <wink>

Congrats to you!!!!! I am sure you will be able just to miss a few days of school Good-luck to you!

Tea goes down fine-cold water doesn't
Laurinda replied to John Does's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Cold drinks in the morning kill me. It sometimes can be equivalent to a "stuck" feeling. Room temp water always does MUCH better! Sometimes as the day goes on I can drink it cold but I tend to stick to room temp myself  -
"I'm interested in how legumes and pulses go, passing through the band, if anyone's had any problems with it." I have not had any problems with these foods listed going down. I eat all that plus the tofu and meatless products.

I am looking into this product. My hair is a wreck since surgery! I am so bummed! I have been losing hair so fast . I had blood work done and everything seems "normal" <grumble> I am doing the Biotin , my Protein levels are good.... Sigh, I dunno. This product sounds like something I need in my life (Laughing) at least what I have left could look nice < wink > TY

possible dehydration?
Laurinda replied to blackcherry2002's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree you need to eat more AND drink more. -
I know someone that was 6 months out and still had not had her first fill. She was dropping weight and the doctor said even if it's a pound a week he would not fill. I know we are ready to get the show on the road but just remember there are stricter policies out there! Good-Luck to you!
-
Remember your still in the healing phase of all this! It is very common to slow weight loss or even gain during mushies. I promise when you get through this part and then your first fill you will see the weight come off again. Good-Luck to you!
