( laughing) I guess you could call this a NSV. I had to go in and get a stress test today and all that blah blah blah. ( just standard stuff) I was dreading it. Talk about being stressed over a stress test! My only thoughts were "I'm gonna die":scared2: When I went in I kinda made a joke to the ladies about knowing CPR and having the oxygen ready for me. My only goal was not to have my heart explode on the treadmill doing 90 miles an hour. I was pleasantly surprised when my heart rate reached 154, they got me off the treadmill and did their after treadmill thing and....I was breathing, as dork as this sounds, it made my day!

Saltine Cracker Question
Laurinda replied to RestlessMonkey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me to crumble crackers in my broth. This is something I still do now the day after my fills  -
Has anyone heard of the Miracle Noodle
Laurinda replied to Presto's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
shiritaki noodles : I have used them many times before and after my band. I like them pretty well and can find them at my local grocery. I use them many in Soups, I have not made a "plate" of them and used Pasta sauces ( like a spaghetti meal) I say try them if you are curious. Just eat small portions and chew very well, just like you would any food you now eat! -
Are We Ready For A Woman VP?
Laurinda replied to Daisalana's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have never based my decisions on race or gender. I am a very open minded person but I fear many in this country are not. I know a lot of people who have voted in the past strictly on party not issues and I have always felt that was wrong. I am afraid the same will hold here, vote because of race or gender. I don't care if the president < or vp> is a man or woman, black white or green as long as the person voted in does what is best for this country! Ya'll are right, the race is on and either way it will make history! -
LOVE the pic! lol Congrats to you! GREAT job

What do you know about high triglycerides?
Laurinda replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Telicia has hit on something. I too had blood work done and my cholesterol was strange ( some good some bad I don't remember it all right now) It was way different then before losing almost 10o lbs. I was shocked seeing as my lifestyle has changed so much. There was another post on here with people talking about similar issues. See what happens when you re-test. Talk about the "storage" issue with your doctor. ** Jeni you look great btw -
To fill or not to fill-that is my questions.
Laurinda replied to 010308's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
To fill or not to fill? I had the same situation just last week. I was still losing pretty good but started having the issue of "seeking food" between meals or just plain getting hungry faster. I was a little confused because I was losing the weight. I went in to talk to my doctor and he noted that yes I was losing weight steady but asked of my hunger. After discussing the being to tight issue and the hunger issue he went ahead and gave me a small fill, 2/10 of a cc. I am amazed at the results! 2/10 is nothing but WOW I could really tell a difference. I feel comfortable and the hunger issue is no more. -

Laurinda replied to juliatabor's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bless your heart we all hit those day's what seems like weeks that the scale don't move. I know I had 10 days that I played with the same pound up and down...up and down.... I was getting bummed too but then it happened! The scale moved! lol and it moved again! Don't beat yourself up for eating something "not healthy" It happens! To tell you the truth if I told myself I could NEVER eat a sweet or some kinda junk food I don't know how I would handle it :tt2: I think it's ok to eat something "off plan" sometimes. Kill the urge/craving and move on. The band has helped me to just eat a bite or two of it instead of the whole thing! When you start to get down look at where you are now compared to where you were when you started your journey! -
Hey there! I have been blessed not to have had a lot of what you are speaking of but I do know it has been mentioned on the board in different places. Read on! This i s agreat place to learn! Good-luck to you!

Laurinda replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree everyone is different. I had no pre-opt diet AT ALL. I was eating food the day I came home. Granted it was different then before I went in but there were no limitations put on me. I had no pain or problems. This was just me * ALWAYS listen to YOUR doctor!* -
I didn't have any co morbs. My sleep apnea was discovered after I had a surgery date. Good-Luck to you!
