nbkight hello! I too am in Jacksonville! How very cool! I know the waiting can be very hard! I started this journey Jan 2007 and had to do a six month diet per insurance and all the other lovely stuff they wanted me to do. I was expecting to get my band anywhere from July-Sept. 06 <cough> somehow I got lost in the system blah blah blah paper work and I was put off til Jan 2008. Hang in there! It was a year in the waiting but I am so glad I didn't give up! ~Laurinda~

Thank-You ma'am ! -
Bless your heart, hot and feeling the effects of surgery! How long do you have to be on the liquid diet? I have been on mushy like food since yesterday, not that I have eaten much but the calories sure did make me feel better! I sure hope you can sleep tonight! For me I spent a few nights in a recliner and that helped! Good -Luck to you! ~Laurinda~

I have seen the Special K water, do they come in packets also or just pre-bottled? Bariatic advantage sounds intetesting too! TY As for being hungry Monica, I am sure it is the protein that helps with that but I have yet to be hungry since having my band on. I am sure it's coming -
If you are looking for anti-nausea try Emitrol. It is over the counter and you can always get a store brand. It is a liquid and come in yummy flavors like cherry and lemon.(Ok I was only kidding when I said yummy, mind over matter!) I am sure this too is sugar based but if it helps ya not to be sick and hurt your band....just walk a little more when you feel better! ~L~

NO REGRETS!! Mind you I have only had the band on since Jan. 16th BUT I am down 21 pounds (including the pre diet) and I have a much better motivation since I have some lost already! I was very scared and almost canceled up to the day I had the surgery for TONS of different reasons.I have read some bad on the board also but I guess that in normal. I have read SOOOOO much more good and these stories are just incredible! I feel like for the first time in my life I have a chance! That is an AWESOME feeling! ~Peace~ L

Eat anything I want after ONE week of getting Lapband?
Laurinda posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor told me I had to be on a clear liquid diet for a week after surgery then I could eat anything I wanted. No mushy stage, just regular food. He said I may gain weight during this period while waiting for a fill. I will get my first fill after 6 weeks. I sure as heck don't wanna gain weight and the thought of just eating solid food after a week kinda scares me. Have ya'll every heard of such a thing? Any thoughts? ~Laurinda~ -
I am feeling pretty good. I got home yesterday and just chilled around the house. I had to stay over night because I have sleep apnea but even that wasn't to bad. I am soooooo ready to move forward!! ~Laurinda~

Eat anything I want after ONE week of getting Lapband?
Laurinda replied to Laurinda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with all ya'll. I told my husband I would just do the liquid, mushy etc. I know 6 months ago when I saw him for the first time he told me there were different stages but when I saw him last week and he said nope eat what ya want after one week, no stages, I was shocked! -
Glitter354 I have lots and lots of laundry if you need something to do :welldoneclap: Good-luck to you! ~Laurinda~

I would like my end weight to be 150lbs. I started out at 315 and I am now at 288. I get banded in 3 days! The total weight lose is to much for my brain to handle so I set up mini goals! After I lose my first 50 (banded) I am going to have my hair cut and colored,multi-highlighted like I used to do back in the day!! I am very excited about this because hubby wouldn't fuss about the cost at all!!! YAY me lol

I'm sorry I am kinda new at this and posted the same post twice :welldoneclap: this is me trying to fix it (laughing)

Why do ya'll have to lose weight before the surgery? It took 6 flipping months to get my insurance to approve this and I go in Wed. the 16th! I am happy and scared all at the same time (going under scares me the most) Protein shakes are a good way to loss weight if it is a must before surgery. I have been on the liquid diet my doctor put me on two weeks before surgery and I have lost 16 pounds in 11 days. Was it fun? No, but I do feel better and have a great motivation! ~Laurinda~

Did you cheat on Pre-Op diet?!!
Laurinda replied to milton5a's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was told I could have a small piece of boneless skinless chicken breast every few days if I needed it to "get me through". I did really well the first 5 days with out food but come the 6th day I did eat the small piece if chicken. It was totally amazing how much better that small bit made me feel. I am sad to say I did eat chicken 3 more time since then but always boneless skinless and I hope I didn't mess up to bad. I go in we. the 16th for me band! ~Laurinda~ -
My date for the band is Jan. 16th! I am happy and scared and dang hungry right about now! I know this will be more then worth it. I have "dieted" myself to this weight by losing and regaining and losing etc. we have all been there. I am ready for a change! I was very blessed that insurance is paying for this! :clap2:

It's funny how often we think of food when we are not hungry! I understand 100%. I find I go to bed earlier when not eating
-
I go in at 5:30 a.m. and my surgery is at 7. I will be going to St. Vincents here in Jacksonville. I am on day 4 of my pre-op diet and things are easier today! Don't get me wrong, I sure wouldn't mind a cheeseburger but all and all things are better today!
