I can get fills every four weeks if I want to. I choose to play the wait and see game and get one when I feel the need. I understand being upset because you had your head all ready for this. Your doing GREAT! I won't tell you to "buck up" but rather refocus on what your goal is, not how fast you can get there!

YAY you!!!

Why do you have to do liquids after a fill?
Laurinda replied to windy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
***As far as "why"... it's obvious... your stomach needs to get used to the new size. Can't just go out and have lunch... it takes time.***I don't think it's so obvious if you don't know the answer.....That being said, I always chill the first day and go slow the next (after a fill) My doctor has never told me to NOT eat, he tells me to chew well and be aware  -
YAY!!! Good-Luck

Mine has moved some too over the past few months. I have had three fills so far and the doctor hasn't said anything sooooooo

To tell or not to tell co-workers??
Laurinda replied to Susie70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Telling or not telling really is a personal issue. I have read where some ppl tell no one and some tell everyone. Whatever you decide just remember this is NOT "The easy way out" and anyone who thinks that way really has no clue. Don't let anyone belittle your achievements by telling you other wise! Good-Luck with whatever you choose!! -
Unraveling the myth of willpower

What an amazing post! It made so much sense! I read so much of me in that article. The negative hoopla fills your head and makes it hard to move forward. You beat yourself down and it's hard if not impossible at times to pull yourself back up. I forwarded your post to my husband, well he doesn't have the weight issue I thought it was a wonderful LIFE issue! Really great post! Thanks -
I am so sorry this happened to you. People don't think before they speak. When I got on the scale and learned I had lost 49.5 pounds I jumped for joy! When I told my husband he said it's not 50..your mini goal was 50....yeah.....

I have had 2 fills so far since 1/16

It very much is a vicious cycle yes. I have always said I have "dieted" myself up to this weight. Every time in the past, if I lost 20 I'd gain it back with 30 more, lose 10 gain 20 etc. I would eat and think about starting a new program "tomorrow" or tell myself ok this is it, stay this weight and no higher, then gain 5 pounds and say ok that was only 5 no more etc. I knew when I passed a certain point (for me) that I would not be able to do this alone. I am hoping the band will keep me moving forward on my path to a new life and my days of lose some gain more are over! Good Luck to you my friend!

:biggrin2: I got on the scale this morning and I am .5 lbs away from my mini goal of 5o lost!! I checked it three times , I don't know if I was trying to drop that .5 or make sure it was correct! I know a normal person would wait til they hit their mini goal to be cheering but it seemed (to me ) so long to see the numbers change! YAY me !

I have the noises too, sometimes VERY loud (Then I look over and blame the cat)

WOW <laughing> I thought it was just me!! I made a joke about losing a few pounds and freezing like the skinny folks! I always carry a sweater with me now. My sister and I went to Star bucks and sat outside to drink our coffee, half way through the cup my teeth were chattering and I was shaking so bad we had to go inside (and I'm in Florida) Interesting to read about others with the same issue!!

I have a question after reading about Jfran's E. R. visit
Laurinda posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a question after reading about Jfran's E. R. visit. I was under the illusion that if I ate my meal and finished ok I was doing good. I have felt "pressure" and had mild sticks but once I was done eating and all was ok I thought I would be in the clear. How and why can you have problems two hours after eating? If you were gonna get stuck why does it take so long? I just wanna file this in the FYI section of my brain for future use. This board has been so helpful being able to read about people's experiences . It has been a wonderful learning tool. Thanks so much for the info! -
I had a "nice" little visit to the ER tonight

Bless your heart <smh> Glad all is ok now! -
Songinmysoul1 I too would love to hear more on this. It was my second fill that seemed to have more restriction a week later then right after the fill. I thought this weird too!

(((((Mike))))) Good-Luck to you! <Thumbs up> Your doing it all for the right reasons and if ppl don't wanna support you I hope they at least learn to hush their mouths. :bolt:

I drink diet coke all the time,I just shake the stew out of it! lol I get a 20 oz bottle and pour some out and shake til it's flat. It takes a little while but to me worth it!

 Welcome

It's easy to get discouraged while "waiting".Try to hang in there because it's worth the wait! I went to my first seminar in Nov. of 2006 and between the prep I had to do <six month diet> and the insurance hoops I had to jump, I didn't have my surgery til Jan.2008. I am so glad I didn't give up! Good luck to you!!!

Ditto everyone here that says DON'T crush, chew or cut a time release pill. My doc put me on prevacid solutab <melts in your mouth> if I need it for heartburn but so far so good! We have MANY ppl come in the pharmacy and ask this very thing so it's not a useless thread!

 first fill!! Good-luck! It seems to be so different for everyone!

Bless your heart! I too know the pain <like sticking a fork into a raw steak and moving it around> Hang in there! I just hate that you have to go back a second time and they didn't handle it right then and there for you! -
1st Fill Today - Hate being back on 2-Day Liquid & 2-Day Smooth foods!!!
Laurinda replied to sakalmus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do liqiuds the day of my fill and that's it. My doc said I could eat "normal" after that. I do find I take it very slow when I have a fill for fear of what may get stuck! I reckon it's kinda what you feel comfortable with.
