Has the taste of food changed since you have been banded? A Poll
Laurinda replied to sadie11's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions

I know I have said more then once " I will NEVER get used to this" when seeing all the food I take home from eating out. I have gone to just ordering a hardy soup. The VERY funny not funny thing about all this is my hubby had taken to eating up a lot of my left overs. The last time I saw my surgeon we were talking about it and he looked at hubby and said "umm don't let her losing weight make you gain it" My hubby took the point and has become more aware ( he likes my surgeon but really don't want to be a patient)

Laurinda replied to mandi78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bless your heart you do sound positive and "wanting this band to work" and I know THAT has to be a huge plus on your side. I wish I had some magical advise to give you....until you find your "right mix" of what will work for you keep that positive and hopeful out look! Just know that if you keep looking you WILL find what you are looking for! Good-luck to you! -

I was about fit to be tied today! I work with two other ladies that are both large ( about 300) So when I stared my lap band journey I never went on and on about it because I didn't want to make them feel uncomfortable. After my surgery I just did my thing and never made it a topic of conversation. Now almost 6 months later I have been very blessed to have lost 75 lbs. Here lately when we have patients come into the office they have made many nice comments about how good I look and "Wow you have lost so much weight" I thank them, smile and go about my business. ( not only do I not want to hurt the feelings of co-workers but I still do not like attention and don't do well with complements ) Well today after a nice comment from a patient my co-worker turned to her and said " She had the lap band surgery, it's not like she "worked" at it" OMG I was dumb founded!!! I was shocked!! I was hurt!! I didn't even know what to say. I have never kept the lap band a secret so that didn't bother me, but the fact that I have ALWAYS taken the feelings of others into consideration and I got that?? Dang it! I just wanted to poke her in the eye! It really makes me mad when people think WLS is the "easy way out" How rude! Well I know me and I know I won't say anything to her because really what would be the point? It just made me so flipping mad I wanna wear something clingy that shows cleavage tomorrow! ( laughing ) ok I know me and I won't do that either. I'm just venting....because who would understand better then the people on this board what a low blow that was. Sigh.......

WOW thanks to all of you! You all not only had positive things to say but gave me some good ideas for future references. ( That is why I love coming here) I LOVED the conversation opener idea and LMAO the airplane being the easy way out cracked me up! Both will be used! Thank -you all VERY much, ya'll have made my day(s) :tt2: ~Laurinda~

(((Ya'll))) Thanks for understanding and thanks for all the kind words!! I am just gonna stay focused on my journey and not allow her negative energy to filter in! Ya'll have a wonderful July 4th! Stay safe and enjoy!!!! ~ Laurinda~

How many fills to find your "Sweet Spot"?
Laurinda replied to LB4Life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Almost six months for me and I have had three fills. I am happy so far. I went in last week for a fill and was denied. I had lost a good bit of weight in a short time. At first I was shocked that I left with no fill but 24 hours later I knew it was the right thing. -
Yes pineapple juice works well

I just did something gross
Laurinda replied to BumbleBree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes you do what ya gotta do. Always listen to your doctor FIRST but.... I was lucky that I did not have to be on a liquid diet after the surgery. Every surgeon seems to be different !!! -
It was like that for me too....slow to start but when I found my sweet spot WHAM!!! It will come my dear  Good-luck to you!
-
Trust me there is restriction there  I too had a small stuck before my first fill. You learn as you go and chewing well is something you will definitely learn (smile) I think it's GREAT you have your sister to share this with! Good-luck to you both!
