  1. Crock Pot Vegetarian Lasagna Recipe 1 container soft tofu 1 container firm or extra firm tofu ¼ cup soy milk ½ tsp garlic powder 2 tsp lemon juice 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped 1 tsp salt 2 10 oz packages frozen spinach, thawed and patted dry 4 cups tomato sauce 1 box lasagna noodles Preparation: In food processor or blender, combine the tofu, soy milk, garlic powder, lemon juice, basil, and salt and process until smooth. Add spinach to this mixture. Place about a cup of the tomato sauce in the bottom of the crock pot or slow cooker. Then place 1/3 of the noodles on top of the sauce, and 1/3 of the tofu and spinach mixture on tip of the noodles. Repeat these layers, being sure to end with sauce on tip. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or until noodles are soft. * DO NOT OVER COOK!!! THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE CROCK POT DISHES THAT THE LONGER YOU COOK IT THE BETTER!
  2. This is an OLD Weight Watchers recipe. Very Yummy and if you are counting points they are 1 point per muffin! VERY filling! Six Week Muffins 6 cups Complete Wheat Bran Cereal (Kellogg’s) ½ Box Fiber One Cereal 1 ½ cups sugar (Or equal sugar sub.) 5 Cups Flour (wheat flour works well too) 5 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. salt 4 beaten eggs (Or egg sub) ½ Cup Lighter Bake (I have never been able to find this so I use applause instead) 2 tbs vanilla 2 Quarts Low fat Buttermilk 2 bags raisins (I use cranberries myself) Instructions Mix together all dry ingredients the add others. Mix the night before so batter will soften. Spray muffin pans with non-stick cooking spray. Bake @ 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. *** You can keep the batter in fridge for up to 6 weeks. This makes a LARGE batch and you need a LARGE bowl!! I have done one of two things, I either make half a batch or make the whole thing, bake and freeze them. Nutritional Facts: 99 Calories per muffin 3 grams fiber .5 grams fat I do not have the carb count because this is an OLD weight watchers recipe and I don’t think counting carbs was happening back then J

Home made laundry soap and such

Hey there! I was curious if anyone out there makes their own laundry soap/cleaning supplies? I have been making my own laundry soap for some time and it works great and has saved me a TON of money! I started branching out and making my own cleaning supplies, chemical free which is great for the environment and my wallet! I am looking for a recipe for home made dishwashing detergent for the dish washer. I have not read any good reviews on the ones I have found on line. If you do anything that is frugal or environmental I would love to share ideas! Thanks! * I'm a dork I know* :biggrin2:

Home made laundry soap and such

Antiseptic Spray 10 drops essential oil 1 cup Water Put in spray bottle and enjoy! I use this in my bathroom when I clean and it can be used as a room/air freshener. I like Lavender but you can play with it and find the one you like. If you Google uses of essential oils it's amazing the things you will discover!

    Dehydration

I don't freak out about it either but I have had a dehydration problem since surgery. I just make a conscious effort to drink, more some days forcing myself to do so . I have noticed I feel much better when I do. Powerade Zero taste great and has no calories , Smart water has a clean taste and has added electrolytes and that G2 the light version of Gatorade is pretty good too!

    Steamed re: SELF article

How dare Oprah challenge anyone to do it "the hard way" It's not like the rest of America has the money to hire the staff she did. As for the article ( I have not read ) the topic in general. People with weight problems are looked down upon and when the same people try to do something about it they are still looked down upon if they try to seek outside help. ( WLS ) the public has a mind set that if you are fat it's your fault and if you have surgery you cheat and you should have lost that weight on your own, after all you put it on on your own. Just the attitude I have seen for years. Your damned if you do and damned if you don't in the eyes of some. I am so glad I am damned that I DID get the lap band and that I cheated with my weight loss! Best damn thing I ever did!
  11. You said you already have a gift for her. Tell her dinner is not good for you but maybe you can meet for coffee cause you have something for her and you want to give it to her then!

THIS made it so worth it...

Your so very blessed not to have the extra skin your sister is speaking of! Good for you! Yes slower weight lose is suppose to help with this I am 78 pounds down and still have a good way to go ....and I have loose skin. I do think it depends on many things including starting weight- age etc etc etc. For me I had lost and gained so many times my poor skin pretty much hates me lol. I do plan on having some nips and tucks. It's awesome that you are doing so well!! Keep it up!

how long for lapband to become reality....

I went to my seminar Nov. of 06. I had my surgery Jan. of 08. I did everything I was supposed to do and had hoped to have my surgery 7/07 BUT even after doing everything that was required in the time frame it was required I still ended up waiting for insurance to get it together. At one point I became very depressed and was almost at the point of thinking this would never happen when FINALLY I got "approval" I am not telling you this to discourage you but encourage you BECAUSE even though I waited way longer then I should have I am so very glad I did not walk away and say forget it! The Band is the best thing I have ever done for myself! *I hear many insurance companies require the 6 month diet. Time flies so very fast! Good-luck to you!

she's trying to kill my mother

This is a BAD situation and I am so sorry your in it! Is there any way your mother can move in with you or another family member? I know when my father was in Hospice he was here in my home until the last few weeks and we could not care for him, he went to the hospice hospital. It's so very sad that times of crisis seem to bring out the negative side in family members. Personal opinion 1) your mother does not need to have her home left alone at any time 2) as much as I know ya'll don't want to, someone if not all of you need to confront the one sister that is causing problems. I hope ya'll can work it out because you guys need to be strong for each other. Good-luck to you and I am so sorry for your mom's health and the grief you are going through from all directions.
