tg273957 replied to twinkle101's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I decided on RNY because of the dumping and reflux. I dump if the sugar or fat is over a certain number and it was my control mechanism and it stopped my reflux all together. Best decision I ever made. -

What’s Your Worst Post-Op Memory (or Fear)?
tg273957 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Memory. Bowel blockage after surgery and ended up back in hospital for a week. I would still do it again. -
I agree. I tell everyone. But it is a personal choice. People will wonder how you're losing so quickly and after you took time off work if you do? It was just easier for me.

Yes, walk, walk, walk. Learn to eat meals in 30 minutes or more, walk, drinking lots of water but sipping, walking is good and oh yeah, add walking to your daily routine. I cannot stress walking enough. It will make things easier for you after surgery.

Awaiting insurance approval
tg273957 replied to rebirth1029's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I actually gained 14 pounds before surgery. Never was put on a "diet". My insurance came back with an answer in 5 days. I am down 130 pounds and still have about 50 to go. RNY 11/5/2014 -
I do insurance and I will honestly say that unless the extra skin is around the belly, insurance looks at it as cosmetic. As a nurse, I will tell you that anything moist you add to it can cause yeast infections so you really have to be careful. I use deodorant for all my extra skin for yeast and chafing.
