I have been in Restaurant Management for 30 years. The hours, constant proximity to food and a party mentality had really packed on the pounds. So, I found myself at 320 lbs in late 2014. My family doctor told me that my diabetes, heart problems, leg swelling, fatty liver, kidney deterioration, etc etc would get worse and I had to lose weight. I tried various diets, and it just came down to just too little willpower. To make a very long story short, my Doctor said 4 words, "your going to die". Those words, and some serious prayer showed me that Bariatric Surgery, as my Doctor had strongly suggested, was the only way for me. I found that the process was very easy really. I had no problems with my insurance provider, went through all the nutrition classes, etc, and had the surgery. I started at 320 lbs, now down to 240.
