Get your post-op vitamins. I had to start the day I was sent home and did not have any! I was told to only bring an ID and insurance card to the hospital, but needed my credit card to buy prescriptions, but could not. Pack bag and bring a chapstick, heating pad, gas-x strips, toothbrush to help you gag to burp, eye mask/shade.

I would eat a filling last meal (not heavy embarrassing food that you don't want your doctor to see sitting in your stomach pouch). I ate a light meal the night before at 7:30PM. So from 7:30PM on Oct 6 to Oct 8 at 8AM I had no liquids or food. It was tough.

I am sorry they did that to you.

Get on the phone or go in person if you can and bug them about what they can do for you. They have already approved you, they owe you an explanation and how they will solve this for you so you can improve your health.

Good luck, hopefully they won't make you wait too long.

wow, you were not given a booklet with what to do pre-op?

you cannot survive 2 weeks on water and crystal light!

get some protein shakes , 3 a day would give you about 90 g of protein.

      ChunkyChocolate

Only thing i was giving was a paper with what food were permitted on my full liquid diet. It does say protein shakes are allowed but no specifics.

      ChunkyChocolate

I just assumed since i can have cream soups, pudding, oatmeal and grits that protein wasn't necessary but boy was i wrong..

  7. Maybe I should try protein shakes now while I’m on my full liquid pre-op diet. Any protein drinks suggestions? Is it true even if I found one drink I like, pre op I might think its gross? Question, questions???

@Daisee68 You are so helpful, the best stalker i have ever had! LOL

Other then giving me instructions on full liquid diet, my doctor never mention how many grams of protein i should have,.In the paperwork it says protein shakes are allowed an that's it. i was just wondering if im eating to much although im eating whats on my list, i was wondering if i was eating to much and is there an amount i should stick to. The protien may carve my appite abit

the protein shakes will definitely keep your appetite in control. I really like the Premier shakes, you can find them at Costco. I like chocolate and vanilla, I have not tried strawberry. You have to carefully read what the label says on the shakes, some have very high calories and carbs, I don't think that is very good. The Premier have 170 calories and 5g of carbs, that is excellent. Good luck.

  8. OMG, It's oly Moring one of my pre op diet so far so good buuuut yeah.

@Daisee68 Thanks so much today has been very challenging considering I work in a group and have to make lunch and sometimes dinner this is going to be the deciding factor on rather im strong enough to fight this evil food addiction

    3. Daisee68

      Daisee68

Oh gosh! That is tough! If you have not had a chance yet, and can afford the time and money, I strongly encourage therapy for the food addiction. I am still seeing my therapist and I have learned loads. It definitely helps!! Hang in there..... Sip on protein or something while you are cooking. That might help.

@Daisee68 Great ideal! I'm going to take your advice on the drinking a protein shake while cooking . I'm almost sure that would do the trick. My insurance cover therapy I only had two session before i got the thumps up for surgery. I'm going to contact Mr. Wilbert for extra therapy. I'm also thinking about finding a different job once im completely healed from surgery. My job is food based we eat eat eat, go out to eat, order out. and NOTHING is healthy all my coworker's are thin.
