    1 year later

The wedding is on the 17th! I most definitely will post a picture!! [emoji5][emoji5]
  2. One year ago today I made the biggest decision of my life thus far. There are only a handful of people that knew and to this day, only close friends and family. I made the decision to get healthy for not only myself but for my future husband, our future children and our overall life together. I was a serious yo yo dieter, constantly up and down with my weight. So in August of 2015, after months of research and doctors appointments, I had gastric sleeve surgery. To this day, I haven't told many people out of fear of judgement, embarrassment and being told "why didn't you just eat right and exercise like everyone else". Well, I had and couldn't lose the weight. So no, this most certainly was not the easy way out, it was by far the hardest thing I've ever done. Happy to say as of today, one year ago I started my journey at 234 lbs and today I weigh in at 145 lbs for a weight loss total of 90 lbs and I've never felt better, inside and out. I'm finally excited to see myself in my wedding dress in 2 weeks.

4 weeks out, pain in lower abdomen

I am almost 4 weeks post op and have been noticing similar pain for a week now. My pain is on the left side of my abdomen. I was in such excruciating pain I ended up going back to my surgeon who reassured me it was a "popped dissolvable stitch". They said it should subside but if it doesn't I should go back for a CT scan to make sure it's not a hernia. The pain had started the get better and has now returned and worsened. It is a sharp pain...the worst. I hope yours ends up going away on its own! Keeping my fingers crossed I don't have a hernia!
  5. Thank you all for reassuring me I'm not crazy. My mom has even suggested I speak with a psychologist. I'm not sure if it's that serious but even my fiancé has noticed a difference in my attitude towards certain things. I will try to wait it out a few more weeks and see how I feel before seeing a doctor. Thank you all again.
  6. Hi all, my name is Caitlin. I am 2 weeks post op and definitely grieving my relationship with my favorite comfort foods. I just started my puréed diet which is exciting because I could not stomach another bowl of broth. Anyway, I've been finding myself so emotional since my surgery. I cry at the drop of a hat. I blame it on my break up with food. Did anyone else notice this and did it eventually go away?
  7. Hi there! I'm 27, recently engaged and 2 weeks post op! I am so happy I did it while young, it's easier for us to bounce back and live a normal healthy rest of our lives. I just can't wait to look awesome in my wedding dress!! Good luck to you. The first two weeks are the hardest (my opinion) but it's so worth it. I'm 23lbs down already. Worth every single ounce of frustration!!
