I was able to sleep on my side the first night, but I also wore a spanx type cami that gave my tummy support. Don't be surprised when the inside of your knees start aching from laying on each other as you lose the weight. I was so confused about this weird pain on the inside of my knees, then realized...they had never touched when I was heavier, now they do!!!

I have lost close to 60 lbs in the last two months, which is great! But now that my tummy is shrinking, it also appears to be falling (gravity sucks, doesn't it?) It seems now my tummy is pressing on the front of my hip and often almost makes me fall, it feels like a rubber band slipping...anyone else experience anything like this?

DO YOU HAVE ANY LOST LOVED ONES THAT YOU WISH COULD SEE YOUR SUCCESS?

Yes, lost my mom in 2008. She hadn't seen me under 300lbs in 22 years...oh how I wish she was here some days!! -
Calling Anyone Who's Gained Serious Weight Down The Road?
longjohs replied to Cape Crooner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I completely understand your concern. One of my very best friends had the sleeve, lost 180lbs. Then found out she had ovarian and uterine cancer...between chemo, radiation, neuropathy and depression, she has gained a majority of her weight back. It really worried me how my surgery would effect her, but she is a trooper and helps me out daily. It is time to "retire" my first set of clothes and I am apprehensive about it...it took a lot of effort to find cute shrubs and jeans in my size I am emotionally attached to some of them... -

I am one month out and have gone through the exact same thing. I have really good days and really bad days...now that I can eat a little more I find myself thinking about slipping up, and other days I have trouble remembering to eat at all... it is just a tool, we still have to do the work...good luck. -

longjohs replied to TXmomcat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a Respiratory Therapist and I was sleeved on September 14th. I took two full weeks off and went back on thurs-Saturday of the 3rd week. I went back in the NICU for a couple weeks and now I'm on the general units. My only issue is getting enough time to drink...I'm dehydrated...sip sip sip as much as you can manage... -
Time off work
longjohs replied to soontobesleeved92's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a Respiratory Therapist working 3 nights a week and I was sleeved one month ago. I had my surgery on Monday 9/14 and took two full weeks off, then scheduled myself for Thurs-Fri-Sat of the third week in the NICU, so I wasn't going to lift much...It worked out well, but if you get busy drinking will be a problem, it still is for me... Also, I went to Catherines and bought two of the spanx type cami's. I wore one from the night of surgery all through recovery... IT HELPED SO MUCH!!!! It provided support for my surgery sites and makes it easier to move around, not to mention it is flattering. Good Luck!!! -

I'm one month out and the first thing I noticed was my knees hurt in the morning also...I couldn't figure out why until the next night I turned over on my side and felt the bruises...my knees hadn't touched in my adult life and now I'm premenopausal!!! Can't wait for the next hurdle...keep em com ok g!! -
I'm an RT and I was sleeved on 9/14. I came back to work on 10/1 thinking all would be okay since I scheduled myself in the NICU for a couple of weeks...how hard can it be taking care of preemies, right? Well, the second night I got busy and didn't keep my fluids up...and BAM, I stood up and went right back down...I learned the hard way...STAY HYDRATED...lol

Thank you for that information! I'm 3 weeks out but haven't been weighing myself. I want to to a monthly weigh in.

I had my surgery on September 14, and I too have found myself having a bite here and there...I get so mad at myself...why go through all of this to cheat?!?! But you are right. Tomorrow is another day and my new tummy Will let me know if it doesn't like something. As the days go by, it is getting easier to stay on track. I just can't wait for normal foods...

I think eventually the sleeve will produce some grehlin, but I'm sure most of it is head hunger

What is a good face cream...I'm not exactly a young chicken and I really don't want to age quickly as I lose weight. The fat has kept the wrinkles at bay up until now...

I was told I was to take it for three months for healing purposes, not GERD...

I am 3 days out from surgery and home now. My body is healing and I'm not physically hungry...but being home with the familiar kitchen and tv ads blazing food all over, I find myself wishing for food...I'm not going to act on it...my soreness is a great reminder, but I realize I have a lot of work ahead of me mentally.

My husband is.supportive, he's just worried I will want to split and share meals in resteraunts he doesn't want to share his.food! lol

I have been thinking of making some signs to hang on the bulletin board in my hospital room depicting all of the things this surgery will allow me to do, then when I'm discharged placing them in a "my journey scrapbook", does this sound corny?

Does anyone know of a good proven face lotion to use after surgery? I have this picture in my head of aging 20 years with my skin hanging off my face...

I tell myself it's like a divorce....with kids. You still have to associate with it, just not be married to it. -
Mine is Monday and I am so ready, just nervous about the pain. I have also been heavy all of my life, but I was able to get pregnant once...then nothing....now I am the opposite, I told my husband he is going to have to take care of it, because I'm 47 and we have a beautiful 2 year old granddaughter....I'm done trying for another...to old for that business. lol

I am new here and haven't seen your previous post, but I am on day 11 of this d#*m liquid diet and I WANT to eat! But I also work in the medical field and see the train wrecks happen when people don't follow the plan. That is what made me wait so long (11 years) do have the courage to do this! Lets keep up the fight together and muddle through. WE CAN DO THIS!!!

I am having surgery on Monday, and have decided to not weigh myself until my one month out. I am going to follow the rules, exercise as I can, and not worry about it....HOPEFULLY it will show in my face and energy level on its own. Good luck!

When I started the process I was 330, at the beginning of the preoperative diet I was 319, now 5 days before surgery I'm 304.....
