    Progress

  2. I am six months out and you can message me anytime. I am losing slowly with a 50 lb loss so far. SW was 216 and CW is 166.
  3. I started at 216 on Aug. 18 and just hit the 50 lb loss. I have been slow at losing, too. I just keep thinking what I will have lost by the one year mark and that makes me feel good.

6 months out before and after

    Looking beautiful! Great job!
  5. I have only lost 50 lbs and all my shoes are too big! I have lost between 1/2 size to a whole size. Just where I wanted to lose weight! LOL

When do you get to have crunch!

Totally agree with BarrySue! If you want crunch, have crunch! I find if I deny myself something I really want it becomes a big craving. I have been eating the 100 calorie bags of Skinny Pop popcorn and love it. I also eat the individual sized bags of Veggie Strips. They are ok.

    Any sleevers over 60?

I was sleeved in Aug, 2015 at age 62. I have never regretted it! I am now 63 and have lost 48 lbs, gone down two pants sizes and feel great. I am not doing anything special, still have one protein drink a day, usually for breakfast and drink water or Crystal Lights all the time. I started at 216 and am now 168. I feel great, have more energy and no longer walk into a crowd thinking people are noticing how fat I am! Your mother will do great!
  8. Have any of you watched the advertised documentary? I found it terribly depressing. I felt it to be sad that several of the young women were trying to convince themselves that being obese was a good thing. Also, so many were having the lap band and my surgeon will not even consider doing the band any more, feeling it did not offer the chance of success that the sleeve and by-pass surgeries provide . I can't pinpoint what else bothered me, but I need to read or watch something light and positive after watching that! Any thoughts???

    Calories

I am almost 4 months out and was never given a calorie limit/target. I was told to eat protein, lots of protein and stop eating when I feel full, which is still about 1/2 cup of anything. The only food I cannot tolerate is red meat, which I always loved. I think the texture of steak, roast beef, etc is just too much and careful chewing does not break it down. I find my daily calorie intake is in the 700-800 range.

    Yesterday was the big day!

Way to go! Glad all went well!
  12. I have lost 40 and seem to be slowing to a pound or two a week. It is depressing!
  13. Nope, it is never too late! I had mine done in August, two months before I turned 63. I have lost 40 lbs an 40 more to go!
