Yes and I'm thrilled I had it done! Very little pain after surgery.

Hi all! I had my gastric bypass October, 2013 and am down 260 pounds! I'm thrilled with the new me! I'm very strict with myself and take all my Vitamins and supplements every day. However, I fell hard during our last snow storm and broke my left femur in FIVE places above my knee! I now have a plate, rod, and 9 screws in my leg and am off work recovering. I would hate to think what it could have been. So, the bypass surgery does weaken bones. Be careful out there! I now have physical and occupational therapy coming to my house to strengthen my arms and legs but it really sucks!

Great job! You are beautiful! Wishing you all the best and have fun shopping for all those new, cute clothes! [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4] -
I drink the EAS Advantage protein shakes. They're pre-made and you just grab one out of the refrigerator and go. I've been chewing gummy vitamins called Biotin for hair, skin and nails. That helped my hair loss. You look wonderful!!

Having Arm surgery 12/22/15!
Sherry G replied to Sherry G's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm really excited. The surgeon said recovery is about two weeks but many go back to work after a week, depending on how they feel. ???? -
Hi all! My bariatric surgeon said I was at goal so I'm thrilled with that. I've lost 89% of my original body weight! Yay! My plastic surgeon has scheduled my arm surgery (bye bye bat wings) for 12/22/15! I'm so excited. I've been researching pain levels and recovery times and everyone says it's not that bad. If anyone has had their arms done, I'd be interested in hearing the details. Thanks so much! ????????????❤️❤️❤️

I'm always cold too, but now I'm getting hot flashes so it's a new adventure in body temperature. Lol

I had RNY 10/13 and three fingers on my right hand were numb for two months then all of a sudden they were fine. Lol. Looking forward to seeing your journey. I started at 409 and am now 148. My surgeon said I'm at goal! ????

Hey everyone! I have had a weight issue my entire life. I've tried so many diets and nothing worked for an extended period of time. My health was deteriorating and I needed to do something serious. My RNY surgery was October, 2013 and it's the best thing I could have done for myself! I topped the scale at 409 pounds and I'm only 4'11". I had diabetes that was out of control, walked with a cane, had already had one knee surgery, and had a pinched nerve in my back and needed to take 800 mg of Motrin every night to even sleep. I also had reflux, which my surgeon fixed during surgery. It was caused by a hiatel (sp?) hernia. I had no life. I sat in the chair after work and needed help from my chocolate lab every time I needed to get up. I'd wrap my arms around her neck and she'd back up and help mama up. I was 45 and wasn't living. At my 2 week appointment after surgery, I was down 30 pounds. I've had an incredible support team between my husband, my family and my co-workers. It's been an incredible journey. I can do so many things now and am so grateful to my surgeon. I'm still losing now, but very slowly. My goal is 140 pounds. Almost there! Im down a total today of 261 pounds. ????. I do not eat bread of any kind, no Pasta, potatoes, fried food, sugar or soda. I eat fruit, veggies, Protein and will treat myself with sugar free candies when I want something sweet. I'm very strict with myself. My dad used to tell me, "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!" I lost my dad in January but I know he's cheering me on. I'm now off all my diabetes medication, all my reflux medicine and just on a Water pill and thyroid pill (plus all the daily vitamins). That's ok! I'll do vitamins! I hope I can help someone. Thanks for reading. ???? A current picture is below. It was taken at 150 and I'm now at 148. ????
