Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
LittleBunnyFooFoo replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Exactly! I needed to stop this train! 3 weeks out and I love how every morning I wake up to my husband standing over my side of the bed in disbelief at how small my stomach is. Hehehehe. This is only 3 weeks. You just wait. -
I am 17 days post-op gastric bypass and gallbladder removal. I just ???? all by my self!!! Yaaaaay!!! It was all white. Should I worry?

Thank you. I have Kaiser. I'm going to send a message to the nurse. -
My doctor agrees. I, unfortunately, had stones and needed to remove mine. I chose to do them at the same time.

I did. It's incredibly painful and I am having bleeding problems because of that stupid little organ.

My dad, today: "So, when are you planning to reverse it (RNY)? 2, 3 years? -
You're nearly done with school. Put your heart and soul into it. When that's all done, focus all of your heart and soul on your bypass. It's not an emergency surgery, but a lifestyle change. Make that change when you can accommodate it.

I had to give myself lovenox after my c-section. I don't mean to sound harsh, but it is a little early to be non-compliant. Don't you think? -

Sounds just like baby poop. When they're exclusively breastfed, it's like mustard cottage cheese. After you introduce solids, you wonder how something so small can poop such turds. Plus, they usually get constipated on the transition from breastmilk to food. -

Oh no!!! Hope they can get it all done in one surgery!! Wow your D level was super critical low! I just got back my Vit D levels. I have been supplementing 4000 units per day for 6 months and my levels went from 19 to 43. Not very high over that long of a period, but it is back in normal range. How many units were you taking? I hope so, too! I'm taking 4400IU per day plus 50,000IU once per week. -

Getting my vitamin D level checked again tomorrow. I've been in pain after eating and went to urgent care yesterday because I barfed up my coffee. The doctor thinks it's my gallbladder, so I have to go in for yet another liver panel blood draw and an ultrasound. I asked if we could look at my vitamin D levels (they were 11 three weeks ago and have to be at 20 for me to have surgery) and the doctor ordered that blood test, too. If the numbers come back above 20 and my gallbladder is the reason for pain, I might be able to prioritize my RNY. Fingers crossed! -

Welcome!! Your story is very similar to mine. I was also banded and suffered the same problems. I too was going to do the sleeve but with the same problems of reflux, I was told bypass was better option. This WILL work better than the band for sure! come join us on Facebook! I'll send you PM. Wait wait.....I want to be on Facebook. -
I have no restriction 2 1/2 weeks out, can eat normal portions. WHY?!
LittleBunnyFooFoo replied to Nomorethickchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two thoughts coming from a pre-op: 1) Head hunger 2) the sphincter connecting your stomach to the duodenum (or jejunum...not 100% sure where it connects to) has stretched out. That's the "melon" at the bottom. What the heck do I know, though. -

I was told never again because of the absorption site. Non oral forms of contraceptives were the best bet in conjunction with the barrier method. IUDs aren't all bad. I was pregnant the first month after I had mine removed. -
When did you buy new clothes?
LittleBunnyFooFoo replied to Sara51692's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How about maternity pants? They're designed to accommodate a growing (or shrinking) tummy with a variety of sizes in between.
