I might not make November. My surgeon is filling up his November spots and my Vitamin D levels didn't increase as much as we would have liked. I'm going to push for a blood draw in one month. Hopefully with this higher dose and some California sunshine, I will be right where I need to be.

I was told I could nurse until they wheel me back for surgery. After that I'd have to wean due to the medication.

I'm pre-op with my consultation scheduled for the 15th. Is anyone nursing after having the RNY? Were you nursing when you had the surgery? I have a very good supply, so I'm okay with a decrease. My baby is almost 11 months old.

If my blood work comes back okay, I'll be joining you all in November! The only thing going to waddle is the turkey!

Kaiser covers it for all, from what I understand.

Versed is conscious sedation. It is very different than general anesthesia.

Hi! Well, he's a great guy. Really! My Vitamin D levels are too low to book surgery so I need to do a follow-up blood draw and chest x-ray tomorrow. As far as nursing, he said I can nurse right up until they wheel me back for the surgery. He doesn't want me nursing after due to the medication. His schedule is booked pretty solid, so my daughter will be over a year old by the time I go in. I think I'm okay with weaning at 1 year. She's got teeth now. They hurt.

I'm pre-op. I meet the surgeon tomorrow, and hopefully I'll get my surgery date. My biggest fear is that he will say NO SURGERY! and kick me out. I have kaiser. I've come this far...but until the IV is in my arm, I'm waiting for the boot.

@@jjmama How old was your baby? My daughter is almost 11 months. I'm meeting with the surgeon in less than 12 hours and I am a nervous wreck!

I'm going to go with "making healthier choices, smaller portions, and exercising." That's not a lie and it should be enough to satisfy the gossips in my department.
