Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

@@CHLOE12 and @@Newnetty I am doing the chocolate optifast four times a day and they don't taste bad at all. I actually kind of look forward to them. It takes the stress out of trying to decide what to eat!

@thinner-me. ..oh no, 1st graders and frequent bathroom breaks are not a good mix. I hope it subsides before you have to go to work!! Where are you located again?

Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

It hit me about an hour ago... I literally can not stay too far from the bathroom. I am wondering if the sugar free products (i.e. jello, crystal lite, diet v8splash and popsicles) could have anything to do with it.... this is soooo not fun!

Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

@@60&goin4it I think i would kill for a low fat yogurt right now!! For supper last night I had a half cup of chicken broth, Cherry jello (which I discovered I don't like) my optifast and peach tea crystal light (which I also discovered I am not crazy about)!! I just woke up and would love my normal cup of Earl Gray loaded with all the things I can't have..lol. instead I found some peach cobbler tea made by Tazo that is,actually pretty awesome all by its lonesome. I wish we were in the same hospital, that would be awesome!! Well we are getting closer!! @@Jenaenae84 I really am sorry you had to cook for everyone else. I simply could not do that. My willpower would crumble. But just look at how awesome your willpower is. If anything, that shows you how mentally ready you are for this surgery! Great job. Monday will be here before you know it!!! @@395Ron the broth is great. So far it is the highlight but I know it too is going to become monotonous. Pre op is definitely not fun but I do get a little tickled every time my husband gets that look of horror in his eyes realizing he will be doing this in a few weeks!! He has actually been awesome much like your wife. He helped me clean out the fridge a few days ago and he is making sure that he and Seth don't eat in front of me! I really appreciate that! Work has been a different story. I manage a spa and our break room is a constant buffet. I am so sorry that you had such a bad day yesterday but it is perfectly normal to feel those feelings. I am sure the roller coaster of emotions will be with each of us for some time to come. But it sounds like you have an amazing support system which is crucial. Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

@@dancingqueene It was the same for me. I had no co morbidities and needed this surgery in preparation for a total hip replacement (which is also a condition that insurance does not look at or take into effect). I was denied twice but approved after my second appeal. I was literally told by my insurance company that any plan that has bariatric coverage will eventually approve you, they just want to see how willing you are to fight for it. It seems so wrong but hang in there and fihht. You can do this. DO NOT take no for an answer. Trust me I know how discouraging this can be. And that is what the insurance wants. They want you to get discouraged and either give up or pay out of pocket. Stick to your guns. Eventually they will say yes. Mine finally did and I have surgery in 9 days on October 8th!!! Best of luck to you and I will be praying for you! !!

@@thbrown223 I did not even think about a shower chair. That is a really good idea. My hubby has a overstuffed Realtree camouflage recliner that I have complained about continuously (mainly because it does not match my smooth leather chocolate brown, but uncomfortable ) that I plan to make my preferred resting spot!! The memory foam wedge pillow can be found at Bed,Bath and Beyond or you could probably find it even cheaper online. I am still weighing that one out!

My client had the surgery 3 months ago and she said the biotin mouth spray is a must!! My daughter just brought me a body pillow so I am excited about that but don't think I will take it to b the hospital. Has anyone bought a wedge pillow for home? I have been reading it is a big help.
