Full time student with short holiday breaks. The 21st was the best date for my schedule.

I have seen so many people not using the forums for their intended purposes, and as someone who likes organization it drives me nuts. If you go to the sleeve pre-op forum there are so many posts of people looking for similar surgery dates or people who live near them. There are already boards for this, and they're just clogging up the pre-op board. Go to support groups and you can find people who had surgery at the same time, people your same age, people who live near you, etc. but stop using a forum meant to answer pre-op questions for these threads.

On that note, why don't the admins move the threads to the correct forums? Does this site not have that ability? I have moderated forums before and been able to move topics.

Well, that just sucks. I'm supposed to be 110 pounds by that formula. I haven't been 110 pounds since 5th grade. I was between 115 and 125 when I was dancing. For me it would be about 115, which I feel is too skinny for me.

Medically speaking, the ideal weight formula we learned in school was as follows: Women: 45.5kg + 2.3kg per inch over 5' Men: 50kg + 2.3kg per inch over 5' You can be up to 120% of your ideal weight before they have to weight adjust medications. However, the ideal BMI is 22.0. Looking at these two methods, my ideal weight is about 115, max 138. For the ideal BMI I would need to be 124. I can be up to 140 and still have a normal BMI. I am aiming for 124 as my goal weight, with 140 as my upper limit so I have wiggle room.

I have a friend who is transgender, and she hasn't come out to everyone yet. In order to keep it straight, she told us to address the person that she was dressed as. So if she was dressed as a female, we should call her by her new name. But if she was dressed as a male, we should call her by her old name.

Any December Sleever's?

12/21 with Elias Ortiz through A Lighter Me. -
I agree that it sounds like body dysmorphia disorder (BDD). I know I suffer from it now (pre-op). In my head I'm not as heavy as I actually am. I look in the mirror and I feel like my physical appearance doesn't match my vision of myself. Hopefully it doesn't carry over post-op. It's good you're seeing a counselor. Definitely bring it up to them.

Reductions before op
andromache replied to perforce's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure about most of the herbals, but a general rule of thumb is that anything that starts with a G is a natural blood thinner (ginkgo, gensing, etc.). Also, I'm not just spouting off pseudoscience, I'm a student pharmacist. -
Reductions before op

Salicylates reduce your platelets, meaning you won't clot like you're supposed to and have a higher risk of bleeding more than you should. -

Any deals on Unjury protein powders or Premier shakes out there?
andromache replied to itstimealready's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Costco sells 18 packs of Premier Protein for $24.99 with free shipping. Even if you add in the cost of a basic membership ($55), you can buy two packs for what you pay for one on eBay. -
Spent the day in the ER ... and now I need suggestions
andromache replied to WorkinOnMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had something similar a few years back. Their best guess was an intestinal spasm. Hasn't recurred. -

andromache replied to Halfagain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
December 21st! -
Hey, I was wondering if anyone around my age could give info on skin. If you had WLS under 30, and preferably had no kids but needed to lose 100-120 lbs, how did your skin hold up to the weight loss? Thanks!

Depending on what you tested positive for I could tell you what OTC drugs could cause a false positive. -

Under 30 when you had WLS?
andromache replied to andromache's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to lose fast, but I'm okay with losing slower if it minimizes loose skin. -
Can't wait until I can fit tall boots that don't come from a specialty store. My calves have a fair amount of muscle from my soccer days, but it's not all muscle lol.
