@@WillieBradley Wishing you the best of outcomes! You will do fine! I know it is scary having surgery, but my experience the worst part wasn't surgery but the gas afterwords, & being tired & now boredom from sip sip sip!! Sending you hugs! You got this!!!

@@thbrown223 Your experience sounds like mine. No sleep at hospital, came home extremely tired & full of gas! Everyday will get better & better! The hard part is trying to get down all that we have to! I walk every hour for 5-10 min. around my house for 12 hrs. This seems to help! Best of luck to you! & sip sip sip!!!

You will do great @@kvoneye ! I don't think taking the liquid (magnesium citrate) to clean your intestines earlier will hurt. As a matter of fact I took mine at noon and glad I didn't take it any later so I could get to bed without having to get up & go to the bathroom. You do need to be near a bathroom when you do! Drink lots of liquids when you do. My hospital suggested Propel zero or powerade zero the clear ones to get some electrolytes back into my system that the cleansing takes out while you are doing this. @@edie091371 Grey's is one of my favorite! Being tired was big for me, but today I feel pretty good! Have noticed a few jabs of slight pain on my left side, I imagine the healing pulling a little. I have a little nest going on in my living room too!!! I'm going to just enjoy!!! Have you seen Dexter? Revenge? I could name a bunch on Netflix!!!

I will add you @@sorrynomore ! You will do great! I had my gastric bypass on the 8th & I can tell you it was much easier than I had anticipated!!! I think partly what helped me was doing everything that the Dr. had asked me to do & having great support on here! Everyone is different & usually you hear about the bad before the good!! @@edie091371 I have been drinking for my water part of the time powerade zero fruit punch. I do 12 rounds of 5- 1oz cups per hour, 2 with protein shake & 3 with water or poweradezero. Then when I'm done with that I just sip plain water occasionally till I go to bed! Keeps me really tied down waiting a few min. between sips. If i'm on fb or bariatric pal too long I get behind. Thank god for HGTV and I'm retired!!!

I have added everyone new to our October list of Surgery's. @@edie091371 Yes I'm on Facebook Terri Featherston I think it shows in OKC but I live in Eagle Rock Missouri now. I will try to look for you. I'm doing great, except my bowels are soft & gas, but at least everything seems to be working! Very bored with the sip sip!! I have to wait 2 weeks to get soft foods!

@@irishaggie I have my checkup a week from Wed. so 2 weeks on liquids until I get some soft food ;-( I haven't weighed yet going to try to make it to my 2 week checkup to do that. With my stomach feeling so bloated I'm probably the same weight I was when I went into surgery. Boy I have found a negative, gas stinks!!!!!!!!! I've run my husband out of our room because of it lol !!!! I feel so bad for @@395Ron He gave us so much support & now he is having to go through this! I hope @@edie091371 is doing better & all the other's this month that went before us!!! I'm so surprised at how easy it has been for me & pray that the rest will do even better!!

I decided to copy this letter from @@395Ron wife. He is a big contributor to this forum & being one of the best supporters to all of us. He had his surgery on October 6th & this is what he has been experiencing. He needs our prayers & support as he always has given to us! What he is going through is not common, so don't let it stop you from having your surgery. Thank-You Hi This is Ron wife Sherry. . I wanted to post on here to you guys it was very important to him that I post to you guys so I wanted to make sure I didn't forget. He has gone thru the surgery and the day after he was doing great but started throwing up that night so they did a cat scan to see why and he had a kink in the intestine so they took him back to surgery and fixed that however while in surgery not sure if it was the 1st or 2nd surgery but he got sick while in surgery and tried to throw up but couldn't with the tu e down his throat and it went back down into his lungs this is called aspiration. It is very serious condition where the acids from the stomach contents can burn and damage the lungs which is what happened. He was taken to another hospital for a few hours then flown to the university of Maryland shock tram unit (LUNG UNIT) he has been on a machine that pumps blood thru his lungs to help heal his lungs . And is on oxygen to help him breathe. He is in very serious condition however we are hopeful that he will recover.But it will take time we are not sure how long .so if you don't hear from him that is why..if you have any questions please email me at slyliston2000@yahoo.Com as I won't see any posts here to tell you how he is doing and I'm not sure who all he was friends with and please pray for him that he gets thru this ty all so much for the support you all gave him during his research of his surgery and helping him prepare for it

@@395Ron Oh my goodness, He has been one of the most supportive person to us! Praying for healing & strength & that he doesn't suffer through all this! Sending hugs & prayers to you Sherry to be able to handle all that you two are going through!!! Let him know his bariatric pal family is thinking about him & praying for him!!!

So very glad to hear @@edie091371 I was getting worried about you!! I'm so surprised at how well I feel, sipping the drinks every hour is boring but other than a little tired I'm in no pain. Amazing for what they do to you in a bypass!!

@@sleevemylife I took way too much to the hospital. I ended up wearing the gown they give you in the hospital, & wearing what I wore in to the hospital to go home in. My pull on jeans that doesn't have elastic in the front only in the back felt the most comfortable then my sweats that had elastic all the way around. I didn't need the lip balm till I got home, nor did I nead the biotene spray for dry mouth. I just needed my toothbrush & toothpaste, hairbrush, glasses, extra pair of underwear. They gave me socks to walk in. Your home so soon so not much need for much.

@@scubav85 I'm not sure, I still need to update on my weight, I lost 8 lbs before surgery & the day of surgery I was 230 starting from 238. I haven't weighed yet, decided to wait until my 2 week check in!
