I will get my first fill...THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING! I'm thinking that may be cruel and unusual punishment! I've asked my family to postpone thanksgiving 1 day so maybe I can at least eat a few things and not have to drink it. My doctor recommends 24hrs full liquids and then progress as tolerated. I know my band is very loose and I don't expect much restriction with the first fill. I'm curious to know if anyone tried some solid foods 48hrs after fill.

Thanks for the advice. I'm still hanging in there. Found out another piece to this puzzle. When they placed my band, I didn't have enough fatty tissue around my stomach to hold it in place. (How's that for irony!) The surgeon said he cound almost fit his hand in between the stomach and the band so he gave me a little fill. I most likely had more swelling that he anticipated. Now had this not happened I would have begged him for an early fill, but now I can wait until he thinks I'm ready. Oh by the way. I ended up needing IV fluids because I wasn't taking in enough fluids.

I'm 3 days post op and have been having a hard time getting enough liquids and protein in. Got really nauseated yesterday and I had just about decided I was crazy for ever thinking this can work. I went to the doctor's office and got a shot for nausea but it didn't help. Later that day, I figured out part of my problem. I was severely constipated. Now that was definitely where the regret kicked in. That was miserable. Milk of Mag was not helping. I'll spare the details but needless to say the cure was almost as bad as the problem. I'm am feeling better today, but I am so frightened that I will get constipated again, that I am not taking my vitamin and when that bloated feeling hits I'm up walking the floor. I can't seem to get everything in my stomach that needs to go there. My routine medications, pain medicines, protein and liquids. Any suggestions?

Oh great, something else I can worry about--grabbing someone's butt! The letters tc are my initials and pa is for physician assistant. Thank's for the encouragement

Lap Band scheduled and new to this site. I'm just a little nervous and a whole lot excited. I have never had any kind of surgery. Closest I've come to it is an epidural and an episiotomy. I'm a physician assistant and true to my nature, I am focusing on all the bad stuff that I know can happen! So if I could, I would like to hear from you guys about what to expect immediately following post op.
