I was just told by my doctors exercise specialist that I have to wait 2 years for ant plastic surgery. Really? I am almost at a year and was thinking about getting a tt and breasts fixer upper.lol. In 4 months or so. I forgot to mention that to my doctor. I know that each doctor is different but is that true?
-
Well at least yours are only heading south. Mine have been there for a very long time and from what they told me they have no intention have on on visiting the North. lol. I can't imagine having to wait very long after I hit goal. Although It may happen that way. Seeing as the last 18lbs are happy where they are. I want to hit goal before I do this. I am not in that much of a hurry. Just don't want to wait 2 years. I really just want to get this part over with. I really feel odd having these flaps of skin hanging on me. Either way I just have to keep on keepin on. Thanks for the replies guys.

Dinner all the way. I get full real fast during the day time. When I get up I want to eat but I am a bit to tight for a real meal. I am a coffee person and then I eat a small lunch. I have a couple snacks, but it's dinner that I get a good meal in. My doctor wants me to eat 6 small meals. I have to keep working on that.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered Bandsters
Hedwig replied to AshevilleEddie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Woohoo!!!So glad you made this thread. I am straight but was raised by my two wonderful mums. My mom is looking into getting this done. My other mom has never been heavy but is completely supportive. Having the band has been amazing and I am excited for all that are on their way to bandster land. Just want to say good luck Msdad, and it will be amazing to have someone that can help you. Someone that knows the ropes. I am excited to help my mom out. Oh, and Lucy there is so much love in this world, it is so sad people believe it should be limited to what they think is "normal". Wasabubblebutt, I am a hairstylist and makeup artist. Need help I got the goods sweetie.lol -
Well it's comin up on 11 months since my surgery. I am happy with the results:D . Even though I am moving kinda slow. I have a 4.0 band and am filled to 3.55. I am tight but still don't struggle that much at all with foods. Once and a while steak and oranges give me trouble. The thing is I am having a heck of a time these past couple weeks. I have gone up and done 2 lbs. No big deal. The thing is I can't stop the snacking . I usually have a snack and its small. No big deal. Like I will have one peanutbutter cup or 20 chips. If I feel the craving. Not everyday. These past couple weeks I have really been over doing it:help: . I don't know why. I care for my band so I have always been careful. I am scarred those old habits are creeping up:mad: . I have 18 more lbs to go. They are the hardest for me. I don't have much room left for a fill. Strange thing is I feel like I want to get a tiny one just to get my head in place. Does anyone know what I mean:confused: . My last fill was about 2 months ago. So I guess I am just blabering. That struggle will always be there. How are all you doing with this battle? Also does it sound like a bad idea to get .10cc's put in? Just looking for a couple cents. 1 cent even 2 will help. lol. Thanks band pals.

Thanks to you both. Its nice to have people to talk to. Nanny2trey do you have a 4.0 cc band? Thanks for that info. I have an appointment next thursday. I am planning on getting another small fill.

I am so sorry. Don't ever give up. Have you had a chance to go to a personal trainer. I heard they can really help teach a person how to jump start their body. Just an idea. I also heard there are certian foods that help speed things up. Maybe both a nutritionist and trainer may help. I wish you the best of luck and 66lbs is amazing.

10 more lbs? She looks skinny now. I think she should stick where she is. I loved her in The people vs. Larry Flint as well. She was amazing. I can't knock her acting ability.

Question about food getting stuck...
Hedwig replied to CajunCutie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I rarely pb. When I do I get the slimes first. This lets me know something is stuck. Then I head off to the restroom. If I don't think it will pase. All I have to do Is gag and up it comes. I don't do this because I don't want the calories. I am uncomfortable and it needs to come out. Also it is only the bite that landed wrong. Not a whole meal. It is nothing like a long vomiting session. Sometimes I am just tight and take a bigger bite than I should. I would say in 10 months I have had a pb maybe six times. So really it isn't an on going thing. It can usually be avoided by taking smaller bites and chewing to goo. I have never had to stick my finger down my throat. The food is still sitting on top of my band. Everyone has a different experience. Really it sounds worse than it is. Just be careful of how you eat. Hope I helped. -
Cutie pie if I've ever seen one. She looks so cute. I am a hairstylist and have to say I don't think the stylist was listening to what you wanted though. Even though she looks so cute. Long layers means the longest hair will remain long and layers are place in the hair. It looks like she took off some length and removed lenth from in front of her ears in an angle. Either way she looks realy sweet.

I know it can be scary. I was afraid the day of surgery. More about other things. It happens so fast. I remember going in and the next thing I was trying to wave my hand around to get the nurse. It was so strange. If I didn't have a pain in my belly I wouldn't have known it happened. For me the pain was strange. It was a sharp feeling near my belly button. It was the port. I was so out of it I couldn't really speak. From the meds. I did however manage to wave my hand around to get the nurse. She asked if I was in pain. I grunted "yes". She gave me pain medication. Don't know what it was, and I didn't care. Right away I felt better. Mind you the pain wasn't that bad. I didn't want any pain. Anyway they gave me plenty of pain killers and I was fine by the time I headed home. In fact I slept the whole ride. Didn't feel a thing. It really isn't so bad. Nothing one can't handle. Atleast for me. It was worth all of the recovery. Once your home in your own bed you feel safe, ad comfortable. Well, the comfort of home atleast. I did take pain meds for 10 days or so. It really wasn't that bad. Everyone is different and has different experiences. For me coming on here and reading other peoples stories helped my nerves. I hope it does the same for you. I wish you the best of luck and a quick recovery.

It will be great. I wish you both the best of luck. Hope your healing goes smooth and hope you guys get well soon.

Happens to us all. I think, I don't really know everyone, but I assume we are all human. Well, I am human except for 4 days out of the month. Then I am a scary chocolate monster that needs to be tied to her bed. I wish I had control everyday but I don't. I try my best and love my band. It has been good to me. Sounds like you are doing fine. Don't get to down about it. It's life and life happens.

It was a hard one but I didn't buy any this year. I was thinking about getting the low fat ones, but I just decided not to get any. I felt bad cause I always buy from my friends daughter. I just knew if I bought them I would eat them and not give them away.

ohhh, good question Argon. My arms are not doing so hot. It looks like I have two arms. One with muscle tone on top and then the skin hanging from my sexy first arm. haha. I am thinking of getting my arms done as well but kinda nervous about the scars. Anyone know if there is a way to remove scars. At least fade them out alot? Puddin I swear everytime I come on this thread I want to exercise. Even with the swelling you look amazing. In fact I think you look great now. So watch out world, there's another hottie on the loose. I will hopefully be another one soon enough.

Wow, alot has been said on this topic. I am so happy for all you ladies that commited to getting healthy and fit. I am on my way. I hope in 6 months to be ready for the next step. I want fab breasts and a nice tummy. After reading all about you guys making it I feel so excited. I also wanted to mention I am in a simular situation with my niece and nephew. I am 29 and have taken in my 14 yr old niece and 3 year old nephew. I am in and out of court trying to protect them and I tell you sometimes, I want to eat my way to comfort some days. I don't, but boy do I want to. I have to admit these kids are amazing and I would walk through fire for them. My justice system isn't the best either. The 14 year old is safe but the 3 year old can only stay for 2 years under an order of protection. I am still in the process of getting the court to extend the order. I have had the kids for 6 months. I don't have children or a husband. So you could say I was shocked with what goes into taking care of a 3 yr old.lol. The mother is abusive and has men in and out of the house. I will just say she is not selective and my 14 yr old niece was no longer safe around theses strangers. I will leave that at that. She is amazing though. What bothers me is the courts have a problem with not having enough evidence. Like I filmed it all. A 14 yr olds word isn't enough. DCFS is involved and they are so against the mother getting the children back. She is homeless and keeps getting kicked out of the shelters. She did find a lawyer however. For free, go figure. I can't believe what is available to her. We struggle with a small apt. and food and lawyer bills. Yet she gets a free shelter, food, and lawyer. So confusing. I love these kids and will fight till I can't for them. Plus my niece is a kick butt bootcamp. She is a tough cookie. She is beautiful and thin.lol. She is kicken my butt. When I am to sleepy to workout, well lets just say that is not an option. She puts on a film with the sexy Cillian Murphy and says "get up and work out, then you can get you some of that."lol. I wish. She works out with me every night or 5 times a week if I need a break. She doesn't need to but, I think it's important to stay healthy. So she loves the time we spend working out. She is a ball of energy. I am like" look kid, I am done, cooked, spent, I got nothin left. Let me relax. I'm gettin old". She just says "aww come on 5 more situps." I wanted to share this because you all opened up so much and I was moved. You are all so wonderful and have given me a reason to get excited again. Puddin, WOWWEEE!! You are lookin so amazing. Thanks for reading my rant. Can't wait to be where you are.

Personally my port still hurts when I do crunches. I am 6 months out. My doc says everyone is different. I did crunches for a week and my port hurt but only when I do the crunches. I think most people have no problems with their port. So if you can do them then you should. go for it. I work the bottom portion of my abs with no problem at all. I lay down, and hold on to someones lower legs while they stand in front of my head. Then I bring my legs all the way up and down slowly. It is an amazing exercise. It works my legs abs and buns. I plan on trying more crunches. I am not saying you will have the same discomfort I have. In fact I think in time I will be able to crunches with no problem. Good luck I am sure like the other ladies you'll do great.

I am also doing walking away the pounds. Leslie is the instructor and I like her. Sometimes I want to smack her.lol. Most of the time I really like her positive information. She is really happy and says walk alot. I love these workouts so much. I started with the one mile and am up to the 3mile with weights. The whole time I keep saying your down one, two now three. yeaaaa!!! I finished.lol. I am so sweaty afterwards and really feel like I did a good thing when I am done. I do some situps, leglifts, the plank, squats and arm exersices after her workout. Then I fall over and drink tons of water. In fact most of my water in take is during and after the workout. I am not a person that loves to workout. I have to say i truely enjoy this workout. It goes by fast and you don't get bored with it. I was excited to tell you guys about it but you guys seem to know already.

I am without a doubt cheaper as far as going out to eat goes. With grocerys about the same. I replaced my junk food with healthy food. Sometimes all the fresh fruit and veggies costs me a bit more than a bag of chips. Plus the snacks I may eat like rice cakes or nuts cost me a bit more than a bag of chips. Hey I am happy and feeling healthier so I am fine with paying the same.

I feel you. I am a slow loser. What helped me see the weight loss was weighing my self once a month. That may sound silly but, for me atleast it was a mental thing. I know it can be hard but when I first started exercising my muscle started to come in to play. I was gaining muscle and seeing the numbers go up freaked me out. So I stopped checking my weight every couple days and only check once a month. Trust me seeing 4-6 lbs a month feels better than 1 lb a week up 2lbs down 2lbs and so on. I also never eat the same amount of calories everyday. some days I eat more calories. It seems to work. I am 5'3 as well so I understand what you mean. Good luck and keep on.

How often do you exercise?
Hedwig replied to Maurdan's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I workout 5 times a week. I use this great 3 mile walking exercise. I love it. It's on On Demand. I am soaked after the workout. After that I do my situps and all the muscle type workouts. Like arms, abs, tush, and legs. I do about an hour in total. I feel so much healthier now but, I wish I was losing a bit more. My doctor says I am right on track. I lose about one pound a week I would like it to be two. I will just keep on. -
So exciting!!!!!!! I am so happy for you. It has to be an amazing feeling.
-
20lbs is great! I know what you mean about checking every 3 days. I force myself to only check once a week. Really if I can put it off for a month I will. I feel checking all the time makes me feel discouraged. If I lose a pound and check the next day and gain it back I feel sad. So I really try to check once a month, but usually I can't wait that long. I get curious and feel if I gain I need to adjust something I am doing. Sounds like you are doing good. I wish you the best.

Don't worry sometimes it just takes a couple trys. It took me four fills. You'll find it.
