Why do u feel guilty? -
Yes. I lost 15 pounds before seeing my surgeon. So all I have to do at this point is maintain my weight and not gain. The surgeon was cool with the weight I lost so far and sad I didn't have to meet a weight requirement. So right now I put myself on a 1300 calorie diet unit I have to start the pre-op diet.
-
I don't have my date yet. I have two more appointments. 9/28, and 10/9. My medical clearance and re-evaluation appointment with the surgeon. It should be in October for sure though.

I'm official...lots of dates added to the calendar
Jefferyc79 replied to linzlou2000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks. I wish I could do the 6 month diet though only cause I feel like I'm not ready. I think about food so much but I just try and take it a day at a time. I'm surprised I've lost this much weight so far. I'm staying strong though. Thanks. -

Congratulations!!! I also have BCBS. 12 month diet OMG. My insurance waived a diet requirement due to my BMI being over 50 and having other health related issues. I'm happy you got your dates. -
Try passing time. When I'm feeling hungry I hop on the Xbox and play some games and drink water. Don't quit my man. Try and stay the course. You're ahead of me in this process so I need you to make it through this man cause when I get to this point in the process I'll need your help and encouragement. Ride or die!!

People get into my head
Jefferyc79 replied to capricec's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@caprice this lady seriously said that to you? What a jerk. She's a nurse and is supposed to help and encourage. Try not to let people get to u. I'm not one that let's people get to me. When you feel this way jump on and talk to us about it. People are going to be mean. This nurse is probably jealous that she can take control of her life like you have. I have a saying that I would love to share with you- "ignore the noise". All negative thoughts, things, and mean things people say just ignore it and keep your eye on the prize. Congrats on losing that 10 pounds!! Awesome start!! Thank you so much! I like that saying a lot, it's so frustrating. I just wanna do this so I can be healthy. I was never this heavy. I started packing on the pounds after my dad died then I got diagnosed with h pylori and polycystic ovary syndrome. Now I just hate going out cause I'll have to feel gross in cloths. She said she wanted the surgery too but stopped when she found out she couldn't eat and drink at the same time! So this lady was considering the surgery huh? Is she overweight? I was going to ask you this in the last post. FIGURES!!!!!!! On a side note though I'm sorry to hear about your Dad and all your other issues. Nothing is wrong with you. You look great. Sure we all carry some weight but we're not ugly people. I'm getting the surgery due to my health. I have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and I'm borderline type II diabetic. Do it for your health. Due it for your Dad who I'm sure would have loved to have been around to help you on your journey, lastly due it for you!! You deserve to get your life back. Stay the course. -

That's three days after my birthday! So awesome! Good luck to you and be sure to keep up posted on all pre-op and post-op stuff you go through, good or bad. I have a feeling that my date will be somewhere around before or after my birthday. That'll be one heck of a present! -

Nice to meet you! I'm glad that you took the step and decided to post. I haven't started a post of my own yet (still new) but I've def have been reading a lot of people's post and wishing them all well in this process. When you come across rude or judgmental people you have to just ignore them. With all of the nice and encouraging people on here you should be fine. I'm still in the pre-op process as well. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for my insurance. I didn't need to do a 6 month diet because my BMI was over 50 at my initial weigh in. The insurance specialist through my program told me that once I've completed all the appointments I will have no issues with the insurance. I've met all the requirements so far. So I should be getting my date for sometimes in October. I wish you all the best in your journey. Keep up all posted and good luck! -

My surgery will be here in Michigan where I live. Not doing the Mexico thing. I actually have a co-worker who with that route and she's doing really awesome. She had her surgery with a Dr. Alamanza. She has kept me in the loop with her and she has had no complications and she's lost a bunch of weight. -

Hey there BacktoB- I have two more appointments before I will get my surgery date so at this point I'm still pre-op. My next two dates are 9/28 and 10/9 (medical clearance, and re-evaluation with my surgeon). I should be all set to get my date (looking like October for me) as long as I haven't gained any weight. Let's do it together! Support is all we need to keep up afloat. -
No doubt! I'll add you so we can keep up with one another.

I have the fitbit surge (259.99). I love this thing. Let me tell you, I really don't think I would've been able to have this good of a start without this thing. It totally holds you accountable. Also, when you have something like this you can totally show your doctors/surgeon as far as your steps/walking/exercising. That's why I love it. Also, I know that I need to be around 8K as far as steps and I know that I've done enough walking in a day to burn the calories that I want to burn. Also it syncs with my fitness pal as well so when you're getting those steps in and walking and working out you'll get more calories back to eat. You should totally try it. I love this thing!

I haven't received my date yet, although it appears mines won't come around until October! We don't have to have dates around the same time to keep up with one another! I'm still in the pre-op stage and I have to more dates (medical clearance, and re-evaluation with the surgeon) before I can get my date. I haven't really had the up and down feeling of NOT wanting to do the surgeon because I have other health related issues I have in the reason I want this surgeon. But, be sure to take on this board and keep us informed on how ever your feeling and your process! Wishing you all the best!

Thanks buddy! I will most def do that! Thanks for the support!
