    protein drinks--before OR after exercise

My trainer recommends eating something one hour before workouts, but says that your muscles are most receptive to Protein up to 30 minutes after you work out, so a protein drink would be a good idea at that time. I have started drinking the protein shots directly after weight training per his instruction. Tracy Sacramento spinnerchick:lol:

  8. Is there a comparable product to the bugg for less money? Do you HAVE to have a subscription with it or can you upload data without it Is it worth the 250? What features would you add or change? Can it be worn under clothes easily to be hidden? Can it be worn say on the ankle or something instead? Hey Brandy, I am just a civilian here (not an expert like the last poster) but I have had my bodybugg for about 3 months now and can answer your questions from my experiences with it. You do have to have a subscription in order to use it, but you get the first 3 months free, then you can purchase it by the month or year, whatever your needs are. I didnt pay $250 for mine, they have sales all the time, plus I know you can buy them off ebay for cheaper. I DO NOT like the calorie tracking aspect of it, the lists that they provide are not very complete, and have had better luck tracking my intake on the Daily Plate website. I wear it under my clothes everyday and have never had anyone notice it. It must be worn on the right arm, no other place. All in all, I would say that it was a decent investment because it enables my trainer to see what I have done on a daily basis. Has it helped me to lose weight? Hell no. That has come from working out 6 days a week and eating by the band rules. If you are just looking at it as another tool to HELP on this journey, I dont think you will be disappointed, but its just a tool. YOU are ultimately responsible for your own success. Hope this was helpful. Tracy Sacramento Spinnerchick:lol:
  9. I was at the gym on the treadmill one week post-op. Granted, I was only doing like 2.5 for 30 minutes. But, I think the key is to just get moving, don't overdo it.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

You all are such an inspiration! I went out and bought a Specialized road bike, and am going to start training to do the Princess Promenade- a 30 mile bike ride just for women. I do spin classes regularly and run 3 miles 3 times a week, but something about getting on that bike with traffic all around scares the hell out of me! The race is Oct. 8, so I had better get my butt in gear. Any suggestions from you pros on how to get started? Tracy sacramento spinner chick:tt2:

    Spinning class?

Good luck on your spin class tonight, you'll do great! I am really struggling with 2 lbs. right now (need to drop it to get to the 150's) so I have committed- now publicly- to do 5 spin classes this week. If that doesn't get those two pounds off nothing will! Love spinning and love my band!:wink2: Tracy in NorCal

  13. Twilight- I loved your post, it is absolutely true. That is why I made the decision to add counseling to this weight loss journey, if that little plastic band in my belly could only control my brain I would have it made. Unfortunately, you gotta be willing to do the work, which in my case means getting the help to figure out how I got here in the first place, and how I can change it for a LIFETIME. So, I agree, its 25% band, 75% hard ass work! T

    Silly Surgery Question

I was banded 1/8, and was allowed to wear underwear. Also, the getting put to sleep was the BEST part. I don't think I have ever slept that good! Tracy

    Hello Fellow January bandsters!!!

Hi Everyone, I was banded on Jan.8th, and am feeling great. I was at the gym one week post-op, but will not be able to return to work until the 29th, due to the fact that my job is extremely physical. I have my first visit since surgery tomorrow, so hopefully all will be well. I am so excited to be starting this journey! Tracy in NorCal
