    How long was ur process?

I think a lot of it depends on your insurance. I've heard that some want you to diet for 6 months first but for me, my consult was in the beginning of June and my surgery was scheduled for August 25, but then got moved a week later to Sept 2. I'm currently out of work so I was able to schedule all my doctors and tests very quick

    My Doctor faked my surgery!

you know, when I was in the hospital, I had so little pain and had such an easy time walking that I questioned if my doctor did anything more than just make a few cuts in my tummy. My recovery at home was also great, no tummy issues, no nausea, no real pain other than in the main incision on occasion. I had no problem getting my Water in, I was always very thirsty. I just couldn't choke down much in the way of Protein shakes. I've read some real horror stories here, so just be happy you're having an easy time, I know I am
  6. I think with pretty much every plan at only one week you should be on liquids, Protein shakes, broth, maybe some Jello at one week out I was on Water, Protein Shakes and ice pops
  7. I'm not near 2 months, today is my 3 week anniversary but I've already lost 21 lbs since the surgery
  8. I've see on this site that every NUT has different rules. I was ok with tomato soup, but not everyone may be. What helped me was getting different cans of broth based soups and eating those, vegetable, mexican flavored ones, I got hot and sour soup from our chinese restaurant, thai soup...I just strained everything out and had the broths. The spices were ok with me but they might not be for everyone

    Waiting

it will be great! You'll do great! Just think about how much weight you're going to loose and how good you will feel and look. Good luck!
  10. you can do it!!! it sucks not to have family support but this is something you're doing for you. It's NOT an easy way out. It's simply a tool to help you loose weight. That's what people don't get. It's not an EASY way out, it's not a magic want. It's just another tool in our fight, we still have to choose what we eat, we still have to exercise

    Help please

first step, call your insurance and make sure they will cover it, and if they do what steps you need to take, they will explain everything to you. Then what I did was google bariatric surgery centers in my area. I found one that sounded good, and then did some googling about the doctors that they have. Once I liked what I saw I called them and made an appointment for a consult. They will explain everything else to you three months after my consult I had my surgery (the time may be longer depending on your insurance) by the way, if you are in NJ I can recommend a GREAT doctor

What Staples Are in Your Pantry?

It's probably not as good as something home made, and it kind of looks like dog food, but I think it's really good and it's very soft
  13. I'm not a fan of pumpkin stuff but a recipe I've heard from others is that they make some sugar free cheesecake flavored pudding and mix it with some pumpkin pie filling and they have a low calorie no bake pumpkin cheesecake

Match and Eharmony seem to be the best. They do have pay features but they also have free trials. unfortunately the site I met my husband on no longer exists so I can't recommend that one There are also dating sites specific to different hobbies but you would have to google those
  16. I can't for the life of me understand why people think that this is the "easy" way out. If they knew how many doctors I had to see, how many tests I had to endure, how much paperwork I had to fill out, how much money I had to spend in copays and doctors fees, how much stress and anxiety I've had, how uncomfortable I was after surgery, how hard it is not to eat whatever you want...nobody would ever think this was the easy way out

I have found when I did that, got to know someone via phone and texting first, I was scared to meet them in person worried that they would not like what they saw and there goes that time spent and getting attached. some people have no problem actually doing the actual meeting, but me, I almost use to get anxiety over it. It was offle I have issues lol we exchanged pictures before we met.
  18. Curious to know how that worked out for you @@Sophie74656? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk I'm just over 2 weeks post op. So far I've lost 20 lbs and doing great.I meant how was your will power over the desire to eat after surgery? Was it easy to not over eat? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk Honestly it's been going well in that regard. I can watch people eat and it doesn't bother me. I can go grocery shopping and not drool over the Cookies and Snacks. As far as over eating, that hasn't really been an issue. I don't feel any physical hunger anymore. My only problem, and it's not a huge problem, is that my brain hasn't caught up with my smaller stomach. My brain is used to serving big portions, so the concept of feeling full after a few bites is still something it's trying to catch up with. I still tend to prepare a little too much food for myself but I have my husband finish what I can't eat

    Unprepared

I think enough stores have something healthy that you can grab. Convenience stores carry yogurt, string cheese, protein drinks, packs of nuts, bottles of water, even sandwiches (you can take the bread off)

    Isopure clear protein drinks

I'm going to try the unflavored powder, thanks

when my husband and I met in person, we met at the mall in front of a store that we agreed upon beforehand. That way I figured we could get some lunch in the food court and it could be quick if I didn't feel comfortable

Try some dating websites. I know people still look down on online dating, but I met my husband online and we've been married for 10 years now for me that was the best way to meet someone. I am very shy and we talked online a lot before meeting in person, so whe we met it wasn't like meeting a stranger, it was like meeting someone you've already had like 10 dates with
