I got some premade vanilla shakes that were not so great on their own. But I add some ice cubes and some instant decaf coffee and blend it and its almost like a frapuccino. Also sometimes I add some frozen berries

Sleeve restriction Question....
Sophie74656 replied to Frodo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found that different foods fill me up faster than others. There's a lot of trial and error learning what you can tolerate and how much. just eat slowly and learn what your full signals are. -
Oops! Drank with my food.
Sophie74656 replied to Runner1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ever since I started eating solid food I've been having a few sips of Water with my food. -
I have kind of an eggplant parm recipe. I take the skin off the eggplant but you can leave it on. Cut it into slices about 1/2 inch thick and place the slices on a baking sheet. I top the eggplant with slices of tomato and roast them until the eggplant is tender. Then I top it with a few leaves of fresh spinach and mozzarella and give it a few more minutes so the cheese melts. it's not parm but another eggplant recipe I love is taking the eggplant an slicing it long way into thin slices, then rolling them up with some well seasoned ricotta cheese and roasting the rolls.

Anyone try jalapeños peppers?
Sophie74656 replied to sarahbethemails's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Personally I don't have an issue with spicy food but I would start slowly. Maybe try something with a dash of hot sauce on it first to see how it sits -
Chicken tortilla soup @ 1 WEEK OUT!
Sophie74656 replied to adventurebound's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would add a little lime juice too but that sounds good -
My biggest concern going out was what would be the other people's reaction. How would I explain why I ordered so little and didn't finish it. But I found that people didn't really notice. As long as you have a plate in front of you they're usually too busy with their own food to notice yours

Comfort food when sick
Sophie74656 replied to newbeginnings1965's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also sometimes buy some cup o noodles. I like the spicy ones. I add the hot water and let it sit then scoop out most of the noodles. The broth is yummy, though high in sodium -

Dice or grind it to a "rice" size or even finer.....add some Water and into the microwave. Good, good stuff. I plan on buying one the vegetable spiralizers as soon as I can figure out which one to get. Microwave steamed with some stewed tomatoes over them for sauce and some Italian seasoning and it's sounding like a meal. I'm sure I'll discover many new ways to cook eggs, too. I break up the cauliflower into small pieces, toss it with a touch of olive oil and salt and roast it until its tender. Then It goes into a blender with a splash of either water or broth and the cheese I made a "muffin" with eggs. I beat some eggs with some diced bell peppers (and a splash of hot sauce) and poured it into some non stick muffin tins and baked it until it was set -

How are you treated by people pre-surgery versus post-surgery?
Sophie74656 replied to james1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A few of my family members know and luckily they're all very supportive The big thing now post op is that whenever I eat anything someone always asks "oh can you eat that?" Yes, if I'm eating it that means I can eat it. -
Probably a dumb question but....
Sophie74656 replied to Ilovecats1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my sleeve on sept 2 and right now if I haven't eaten within the last hour I can take a couple of big gulps. I remember how frustrating it was with those tiny sips. I was so thirsty and I never felt quenched. But now it's much better -
I was cleared for any food at 4 weeks. I had a birthday at a restaurant and I got an appetizer of seared tuna. My husband had to help me finish it I've been out to restaurants a few times and I just get an appetizer and I can eat about half of it

How did you compensate for being fat? Will you change when you're thin?
Sophie74656 replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Rants & Raves
I compensated by wearing layers and loose clothes. I'm still far from my goal but I hope that when I reach it I will be comfortable wearing more figure flattering things. Generally being that heavy I compensated by giving up on life. I never wanted to do anything or go anywhere because I was so embarassed of how I looked. I really hope that as I loose more weight I gain more self confidence -
I just finished a bag of the Parmesan ones and they're pretty good.

I just got my first shipment from the bariatricpal store and I had ordered the protein chips. I think they would be great with a dip. They're delicious on their own they have a great crunch. But if you're looking for something chip like to dip with they would be great

What Your Halloween Plans?
Sophie74656 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
my husband is in a musical so I will be in the audience on halloween night, and that will be followed by the cast party that we are both going to. but I actually bought a bag of candy just for myself and have been able to have one "fun size" piece a day and still stay within my calorie goal an I'm still loosing in previous years we would hit the stores the day AFTER halloween and get all the clearance candy we could and have a pig out day. -
Don't know what to do? ?
Sophie74656 replied to oldsleevenewds's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I hope things improve for you soon, I know how hard financial struggles are. Personally I think you should wait on the surgery until you are in a more stable position. What you described I'm sure is causing you a lot of emotional stress. Your body will be under a lot of physical stress after the surgery and if you're already so stressed out you might not heal as well. Also if you can I would try to see if you can go to a different hospital where they have experience with post op bariatric patients best of luck to you -
I ate some with some celery and it wasn't bad, it had a satisfying crunch. here is a recipe for some baked zucchini chips that could work well http://www.tablefortwoblog.com/zucchini-chips/

Just made some yesterday 1 avocado 1 large tomato 1 small red onion, or half a large jalepeno can of corn fresh cilantro packet of taco seasoning i prefer my avocado diced instead of mushed but you can do either. Chop everything up and mix together with the lime juice and some taco seasoning. How much you use is up to your personal taste,

Monday's the day! 36 hrs and counting!
Sophie74656 replied to itstimealready's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everybody's recovery is different so it's hard to say. For me, I had very little pain and a great recovery so I felt comfortable to drive within a few days. But I had so little energy that going to the grocery store really wiped me out and I would fall asleep when I got home -
