What's everyone eating for thanksgiving?
Sophie74656 replied to sarahbethemails's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I'm making a dessert that looks nice and is on the lighter side and is very easy to make you mix a box of angel food mix (the kind where you just need to add water) with a can of pie filling. My favorite is blueberry and you can find it sugar free. Bake it according to the box instructions. In a bunt pan it looks very nice -
The booths are less of an issue than they used to be but still can be tight depending on the place.

I think I was more upset that my husband didn't back me up

you should have been given instructions by your nutritionist and surgeon. Everyone gets different instructions. I was told that my goal was 64 oz

I have a pickle sometimes when I get some head hunger going, it satisfies a lot of my cravings and no calories. I just make sure to have some extra water to counter the sodium

Trying to Conceive After Surgery
Sophie74656 replied to jennb1229's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
it might be dangerous not to wait, your body is still in a malnourished state and loosing weight. It could be dangerous to be pregnant. Definitely go by your doctors adivce -
yes that is a good point. I've been out to restaurants since my surgery and have only had appetizers that I couldn't finish. But I would say that if my friends wanted to go to a buffet I would probably suggest something else but I probably wouldn't turn down the invite, but they're not something I would choose to go to if it's just my husband and I
-
yep, buffets are a thing of the past now. But honestly this sushi buffet was really the only buffet I used to go to, it was a good price and the sushi was excellent. I'm just glad I can have sushi at all
-
the only "down side" is that now I can't go to my favorite amazing sushi buffet anymore LOL

Hence the name lol, I had the sleeve. I was months post op. I'm sure that it's not technically "allowed" due to the rice but I tolerated it ok and only had two pieces in one sitting. Took me half a day to eat 5 little pieces, it was take out. While I tolerated it ok, I won't be doing it again anytime soon because I got really full off a very little amount of Protein. Definitely nice to know I can have a couple pieces on special occasions though.Sorry, I was two months post op ???? Don't have sushi with rice, have sashimi instead. I was able to eat 8 pieces

One of my favorite things is fresh salmon ceviche you need very fresh salmon, diced into small pieces (give your fish a good sniff, there should be no smell to it) some diced red onion fresh lime juice salt when I make it I use half a pound of salmon, half a large red onion, the juice of two limes, and a few pinches of salt. I like to keep mine simple because I love the salmon, but you could also add some diced tomatoes, avocados, capers, peppers...really anything you want let it "cook" in the lime juice for two hours and enjoy
-
I love making my own soup. one of my favorites is broccoli and cauliflower soup boil some florets in chicken broth until they are tender, then puree it until smooth, salt and pepper to taste (I add a dash of hot sauce too) My favorite soup from a restaurant is the tortilla soup from On the Border.

This past saturday we went out for sushi for a friends birthday and I got the sashimi appetizer plus an a la carte order of Uni sashimi because I've always wanted to try it. The app was a perfect size, it was 8 pieces of sashimi and it was perfectly satisfying
-
I've had lots of sashimi and it was fine. Sushi was fine too but the rice filled me up a lot faster so I prefer sashimi
