What were (or are) some of the barriers holding you back from getting wls?

it's funny, my insurance said they cover the insurance as long as it's medically necessary. Who would do this if it wasn't medically necessary? -

Before I was really uneducated about the surgery. I honestly thought it was for people who were so large they could not get out of bed. For a while I thought I could loose weight on my own if I just really put my mind to it Once a person on radio show that I listened to every morning talked about his surgery I started to do some research and it was about the time I hit my "straw that broke the camel's back" and decided I needed the surgery -
I use marinades on my chicken and it always come out nice and moist

yeah every scale shows different. Pick one scale and use that as your main one. I have one in my living room that I use to track myself. I don't care what the ones anywhere else say (though it feels so good to finally be able to actually use the regular doctor's scale)

Download a calorie counter it helps a lot. My fitness pal is very good and it tracks things like Protein my meals for today are/will be... Protein shake for Breakfast tuna salad in a hollowed out tomato for lunch string cheese for snack pan seared tuna steak for dinner greek yogurt for dessert

you could mix pumpkin pie filling with sugar free pudding, it makes like a pumpkin mouse and it's pretty good...especially with a cheesecake flavor pudding

She's really my husband's friend not my friend....none of our other friends like her Sounds like there might be a deeper issue here.. Why is she still your husband's friend, and why'd he ignore your request? I'd be mad. honestly I don't know, none of our other friends like her. She often gets him mad and he goes through periods where he doesn't want to be friends with her. but then they're friends again. I don't get it

what I've also done is taken a tub of greek yogurt and put it in our ice cream maker. with some chopped up bits of fruit in it. It was quite tasty

There are apps that have timers to help you build a routine with eating and drinking. I would set timers on my phone to remind me to drink some days for me for the first couple of weeks I had to sleep in a recliner at a 45 degree angle because laying flat hurt. -
some custard based pies without the crust would probably be good a simple sugar free strawberry pie....make a pack of sugar free strawberry Jello according to the box directions and put it in the fridge. When it is about halfway set mix it with half a tub of sugar free cool whip. You can pour this into a pie crust and let it set, or pour it into individual cups as a "mouse"

I got some of these little cups, they are 100 calories each and a perfect serving size http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Chocolate-Vanilla-Ice-Cream-Cups-36-Oz/10415604

What can I do with...sweet peppers?
Sophie74656 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I would make stuffed peppers. oh what if you pickled them? -
a really good greek chicken recipe Marinade the chicken 2 hours in advance The marinade is a cup of greek yogurt, salt, the juice of one lemon, oregano, chopped garlic. Dice the chicken into about 1 inch pieces and put them in a bag with the marinade, toss it around so all the chicken is coated well. After 2 hours I put the pieces of check on a wooden skewer that I had soaked in Water ahead of time so they won't burn. In between the chicken I put pieces of bell pepper and red onion. Then I grill them until the chicken is cooked

What have you learned to love since WLS?
Sophie74656 replied to dhrguru's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love that food doesn't control me anymore. I love that I'm not preoccupied with thinking about when and what my next meal will be -
