  1. I still get cravings too, I still love food. Generally when I have a craving the first thing I do is have something to drink, usually something sweet like some crystal light or something. A lot of times that makes the craving go away

    Dare I Ask?

being obese taught me to hate myself, to hide myself, to be embarrassed of myself. It taught me to not believe any compliment my husband ever gave me, it taught me to sit back and just take in the snide comments about my weight. Being obese taught me that moving around hurt and that the best thing was just to sit at home in front of the tv I've lost 120lbs and I've noticed some changes and my family has told me they've noticed changes. I don't hate myself as much but I'm still self conscious. I'm more outgoing, I don't shy away from walking or going places that require walking. My family has told me that they've notices that I just seem happier in general

    Feeling all types of ways

congrats and hope everything goes well!
  4. what do you consider too much or too fast? In the beginning it's a drastic change for your body so you will have very rappid weight loss. Even if it feels like too much it will slow down after a little while

    Fried Foods

not at all. You can have a few mozzarella sticks, or some chicken wings and still loose weight. Its all about moderation and being in control. I go out to restaurants a couple times a month and order from the appetizer menu and sometimes it's some fried food. If it's overly greasy it doesn't always sit well, but I've lost over 120lbs
  6. My recovery was pretty good. When I moved a certain way I had pain in my incisions. I had to sleep at a 45 degree angle for a week or so. I didn't have to take a single pain pill, the only actual pain I had was in my back
  7. Finally under 300lbs!

  8. how far out are you? I had my sleeve Sept 2 and can basically eat anything I want. at home sometimes I have a vanilla Protein shake with some ice cubes and frozen strawberries lunch, a couple slices of cold cuts and cheese on a few crackers snack, a handful of grape tomatoes dinner some chicken/fish/meat I made an amazing chicken the other day. I used white meat but you can use any kind. I mixed one individual size cup of plain greek yogurt with three finely diced garlic cloves, tsp of salt, tsp of oregano and the juice of half a lemon. Marinade your chicken in t his mixture for 2 to 4 hours and then roast the chicken until it's done. So good! Also if you like salmon I love this simple ceviche recipe, I make this whenever salmon is on sale, I buy half a pound and munch on it all day long. Cut the salmon into bite size pieces, and finely dice half a red onion (you can use less but I like a lot of onion in mine) then mix the salmon and onion with 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice and a tsp of salt. I love the simplenness of this but you can also add diced tomatoes, avocados and capers

    1st Consultation

congrats!! Make sure you are comfortable with your doctor I actually met with two different ones. The first one weighed me and was like oh yeah you need this surgery, you're past the point where diet or exercise will help you, you're going to die if we don't do this. He spoke to me for 5 minutes before he sent me to his nurse to schedule the surgery. The second doctor I met with was amazing, she spoke to me for a while, we talked about my goals and what I could expect and made me very comfortable.
  10. You probably won't be able to sleep in your bed at first anyway. For the frist week I had to sleep in a recliner at a 45 degree angle. Most people find that laying flat puts too much pressure on their incisions

I Was told not to use a straw the first couple of weeks because it might make you take bigger sips,

    Quick Coffee Question

decaf should be fine but when in doubt check with your nut after a few weeks post op I was drinking regular coffee with milk and sugar. I was also adding instand decad to my vanilla Protein shakes in the very beginning to make the taste better

    Yogurt? Greek vs. all others.

you can get flavored greek yogurt. Greek yogurt is recommended because it has more protein
  14. I was on liquids for two weeks, then soft foods for two weeks than "any" food after that

Pre Op liquid diet .. Please help

yes the pre op diet was much harder. I was trying to train myself to eat slowly and eat smaller portions but I was still hungry so it was very hard. But post op I didn't have that hunger so it was easier
  22. I know right..After 30 years of being overweight I wouldn't mind having that problem
