    ex husband frustration

That is a good idea. I am going there tonight and i will try to at least get some pictures. He's also really starting to aggrivate me because he keeps saying "your parents are rich they can just buy you new stuff". Yes they make good money but in no way are they rich

    Looking for Breakfast Ideas

if you're ok with non breakfast foods you could use some canned tuna. It is quite high in Protein. I like it with some avocado I've also seen protein pancake mixes

    Hubby not being supportive

I think that is a great idead. I was lucky that my husband was not trying to talk me out of surgery (actually by thr time i had surgery he had already mentally checked out of the marriage and didn't care one way or the other) but I've heard often about unsupportive partners.

    Decisions Decisions

I don't know anyone with the balloon but to me it seems like a bad idea. I would go with the sleeve.

    Any Trekkies out there?

It's August 26 to 28 http://www.creationent.com/cal/50yr_cherryHill.htm The website lists the guests
  8. I have had this same thought going through my head all day. Surgery should be last resort for morbidly obese or obese with comorbities. I can't imagine going through WLS when only having 50lbs or less to lose. Someone going through surgery next week is starting at my GOAL weight. that's kind of my thought too. Obviously I was in a different starting place than the original poster but back then 50 lbs for me wasn't that much. I gained and lost that much all the time. because my starting weight was so high I often see people talking about getting surgery who are within 50lbs of my goal weight...makes me really think about how horribly big I was before

    Any Trekkies out there?

I have been wanting to give babylon 5 a shot I also really love the new Battlestar Galactica
  10. I have the sleeve and have lost 150 since being sleeved 7 months ago...still have another 60 I would like to loose. I personally think that surgery is more for someone who has a lot more weight to loose since it is a drastic permanent thing
  11. I know people who have had bypass and and gained the weight back, and people who have been sleeved and gained weight back. So much depends on your commitment to being healthy.

    Any Trekkies out there?

When I have kids I do hope they will give it a try. I have a friend who once said that Star Trek has taught his kids more about morality than religion ever did

If i could punch someone for everytime they say easy way out. There is no easy way out. If surgery, or any weight loss tool, was easy then there would be no overweight people Surgery is not a short cut or some magic wand. It is simply an aid. You still have to watch what you eat, maintain a healthy diet, and exercise. And easy? Not to scare you but surgery is no picnic. I'm beyond happy I got my sleeve and I had a great recovery but it is still hard. If i could punch someone for everytime they say easy way out. There is no easy way out. Honestly the biggger risk to your life is being overweight. The surgery is a minor risk compared to everything that comes with being overweight. You will be fine and you will do great
  16. I know I'm going to get yelled at for this...but only my opinion...but if i only had 50lbs to loose i wouldn't have surgery at all But i woukd definately vote for sleeve over bypass but you really should discuss with your surgeon

    NJ...?

mine was i overlook also. Good hospital but lousy parking
  18. so the weather is getting warmer and that means my favorite thing...flip flops!!! so I needed to prepare and realized another NSV...easily painting my own toenails woooo!!!!
  19. Sophie74656

    Recently noticed a NSV

I also always thought of myself as smaller than i really was, that's how i got so big. Denial is powerful. Full body shots still freak me out a little because I am super aware of and very self conscios of the skin hanging from my tummy
  20. One of the things that has happened to me with loosing weight is that I no longer just completely and utterly HATE myself. So the other day my dad was playing around with his phone and I noticed him holding it up like he was going to take a picture of me. So I just smiled and he took the picture. Then this happened: dad: "wow" me: "what?" dad: "you actually let me take your picture" and then it hit me. Before, if I ever saw someone pointing a camera/phone in my direction I would put my hands up or walk away or just say please don't take my picture. I couldn't stand someone taking a picture of me but now I didn't even think about it, just smiled for the camera

    Anyone Else Scared?

I think people think about stretching because after a while you are able to eat more than you could. But that's not stretcing that's all the swelling going down and really your new normal stomach size. Plus as others have mentioned there are some foods that you can eat a lot of and not feel a restriction. For me its chips and sashimi. I can eat 2/3 of a regular dinner sashimi entree

    Jerky Quest

I tried to make my own jerky and it does not end up being that much cheaper. We have a dehydrator and it made good jerky but with how much meat you need to buy it's not really worth it
  24. Sophie74656

    Very frustrated, is this normal?

this is not the place for medical advice. CALL YOUR SURGEON!

    Anyone Else Scared?

it's very difficult for the sleeve to stretch. They cut out the part of your stomach that stretches
