Slider food is something that you can eat without feeling restriction. It's usually different for everyone. For me it's popcorn. i can eat a ton of it and never get my full feeling

YES! I seem to always get stuck behind the person who waits until everything is bagged to start digging for their check book then fill it out ever so slowly. My soon to be ex father in law still uses checks because he absolutely refuses to use a debit card. "that's how they steal your identity" Meanwhile he has his full name, address, and phone number printed on the checks.

I can only speak for myself...while I have developed some different attitudes towards food, after being overweight for 30 years my brain is wired a certain way and I don't think that will ever change. I will always be a person who loves food and wants to eat and wants to eat a lot

you can also make a version of a greek sauce (taziki?) with cottage cheese grate some cucumber so it's mush and mix with cottage cheese, dill, lemon juice, garlic, and salt to taste. You can mix in some plain greek yogurt for some Protein sorry for not giving the amounts I never write them down. You can pretty much do as much or as little as you want of the ingredients

eating my tuna salad for lunch and man it came out good I tossed in basically a little bit of everything I had in the fridge. A bit of capers. some green onion, diced bell pepper, diced tomatoes, and a chopped up egg. I mixed it up with a touch of mayo and a splash of the caper juice. SOOOO GOOD! The only thing that would have made this better would have been some avocado

A little confused

everyone is different. I have the sleeve and have never had dumping, even after sugary foods -

....And eating it while relaxing on a Polynesian beach at sunset; followed up by a tropical drink with one of those colorful bamboo umbrellas in it -that is only after waiting 30-45 minutes after eating. But for now, some avocado or "guac" sounds like a good 2nd choice. you forgot to throw in the sexy guy rubbing your shoulders -
It's amazing the difference 6 months can make!

What does it feel like when you eat too much or too fast?
Sophie74656 replied to silverthreads's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
depends on the food. usually if I eat too much I get very nauseated and will probably throw up. Sometimes I can tell I will throw up when I burp and get that vomit taste in the back of my throat....then I know I need to run to the bathroom. -
Poached egg week 1 post opp?
Sophie74656 replied to PissiChrissi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find that funny too. The more I read here the more I see how different all of our programs have been for the same surgery. I was on liquids for two weeks, then soft foods for two weeks, then regular foods -
After the honeymoon period, could you live without sleeve
Sophie74656 replied to originalrocklobster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not exactly a vet yet, I got sleeved this past September. Right now I can definitely say that I still feel the restriction and I still NEED it. I do have a different relationship with food, but I still LOVE food. I still think about food all the time. Driving home past all the fast food places I do still think about burgers and nuggets and fries. My restriction and horrible feeling after eating greasy fried foods stop me from going in those places. I think that without the sleeve and restriction I would very easily slip back into my old eating habits and regain all the weight, probably plus more, very quickly -
omg the saga continues....need to let off steam I am looking for lawyers and spoke to one briefly that mentioned I could get spousal support. I thought I would feel very guilty taking it knowing how tight he is financially now. Well today he is making it much easier on me. I am trying to be respectful of his polite request to be present when I come to our apartment to pack up my things, but he's NEVER home! Every day I'm like how about today or tomorrow or this weekend and he always says he has something going on. Then he throws back at me "what do you need that is so urgent?" Now I'm talking to him about some of our mutual things that I would like to take. I am currently staying with my parents and these things will be stored in their basement until I have my own place and he keeps throwing that in my face. When I said I want one of our area rugs he says he needs it now and I don't. When I said I want two out of the 4 book cases we have again he says he needs it now and I don't every single thing I say I want to take he is giving me grief over even though the list of things he is keeping is so much longer than the list of things I want to take. He is making it easy for me to want to stop being nice about this. I still have my keys, either he lets me take what I want with his blessing or he's going to come home to an empty apartment one day

One of my favorite things is a version of an eggplant salad take an eggplant and prick it with a knife a couple times, then roast it in the oven until the insides are very soft. then toss it in a food processor with a spoonful of mayo, some salt, and a squirt of lemon juice. Traditionally you also add tahini but I'm not a fan of that also if you're having trouble keeping things down maybe go back to liquids for a little while longer

Me too! I put them in so many things -
Will I be able to do this
Sophie74656 replied to kat2312's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if you work with it, it will work with you I'm sure you will do great. Just remember it's not a magic wand. It only works if you follow the program best of luck to you -
My current desk job isn't bad. The people are nice, the actual work is ok, and I have some down time. But honestly every day when I wake up I just can't help think that I don't want to go. I have always felt like that with every job I've ever had As a tiny (and I mean tiny) side business I have an etsy shop where I sell jewelry and working to expand it to some crochet items. Oh how I wish I could just make enough money off of that to live on. I would be so happy

I've thought about it for years. I need to do some marketing for it but I don't know much about that

you can meet those people here. There is a whole board for pregnancy post surgery

Just makes sure you don't have anything solid before the actual surgery

you could still do it with the tuna, egg, and avocado. that was my first soft food and it was awesome! -
Take Biotin if you are very worried. I have not had much hair loss. I've always been a shedder and it has not gotten worse post op. skin on the other hand.....

I think it depends on where you plan to put it. I have one on my wrist that was not affected

Trying not to feel so alone.
Sophie74656 replied to MinaDina's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Funny story about people coming in when you sleep the day of surgery I still had bad apnea. So while lying in the bed, attached to the oxygen monitor, every time I would doze off a nurse would come running in to check on me because suddenly my oxygen level plummeted. Finally they made me wear an oxygen nose tube thing so they wouldn't have to keep running in every couple minutes -
I think I discovered my first slider food...
Sophie74656 replied to 2goldengirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My worst slider food is movie theater popcorn. I went to a movie with my brother and he had a coupon for a free large soda and free large popcorn. So I figured I'd just grab a handful and nibble on it. then I grabbed a second handful....and a third...and fourth......and we killed that whole bucket -
Did people's treatment of you change as you lost weight?
Sophie74656 replied to SarahSleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think this I have notices some people being friendlier to me but I think a lot is because I myself am happier in general
