Sophie74656 replied to BandtoSleevechick's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
that sounds great and I would love to go, when is it? I probably couldn't afford the hotel anyway -
Are Protein Bars even worth it?
Sophie74656 replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in Food and Nutrition
I found some bars that I really like, they have at least 20g of protein and one bar is basically a meal for me. Also I will have half of one if I have a candy bar craving and it works for me. I use them as snacks to help me get more protein in -
so speaking of nutritionists...would you prefer a skinny one or an overweight one? On one hand the skinny one must know about nutrition to stay skinny, but does he/she understand the struggle with food that an overweight person has, and on the other hand while the overweight nutritionist would understand the struggle, would you not take what they say seriously since he/she is overweight?

Hey guys I am 8 months post sleeve and would love to attend a meeting or support group. Does anyone know of any in the central Jersey area?

Constantly Drinking?
Sophie74656 replied to Beck90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told in the beginning to just sip throughout the day -
Like I said this site is great, and I'm not talking about people asking basic questions before their surgery, that is what i would consider research. I mean more of the people who ask the basic things AFTER they already had surgery
-
I get appetizers or soups/chili or split a meal with someone. If I don't finish it, I take it with me

Starting Liquids today..sooo hungry :(
Sophie74656 replied to reachbree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there, you can do it. Just keep thinking about the end goal. The pre op diet SUCKS since you still feel hungry. But once you have surgery you won't be hungry and you will be so happy you stuck it out best of luck, YOU CAN DO IT -
6weeks post how much should my calorie intake be for?
Sophie74656 replied to lazylyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
your nutritionist should tell you how much you should be at -

Sophie74656 replied to madisunshine1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it's normal to be nervous, it is surgery after all. But keep focusing on the the positives that will come from it. how much weight you will loose, how much better you will feel, how much better you will look YOU CAN DO IT!!! -
VSG or C-section - Which was a harder recovery?
Sophie74656 replied to Kindra11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well I haven't had a c section but I have had the sleeve. I can only imagine that the c section would be a lot worse, it's a bigger incision, they stretch and pull it open and pull a human being out of it. The sleeve only gives you a couple small punctures that usually don't even need stitches (mine didn't). -
my plan doesn't mention calories and I'm not counting them. I focus on fluid and protien

I don't think they should be pushing you...what are they making you eat? If you feel full then you should speak up and not eat, you need to heal
-
This is what I do. I still go out, i still eat burgers and pizza but in moderation. I have lost 175 lbs
-
I would imagine she had some other issue that contributed to her passing

What do you need help with? A strawberry won't kill you but try your hardest to stick to the doctor's rules. They are there for a reason
-
it's best to follow your doctor's rules. They are there for a reason. Your stomach was just cut and stapled, don't rush the healing
-
I think you can still have alcohol if you want, but in moderation. I drink what I want, beer, wine, etc. But there are always alternatives to drinking. Not having some alcohol is not the end of the world. What is more important to you, healthy weight loss, or one night of drinking?

What to expect two weeks post op?
Sophie74656 replied to P7rancher's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
nobody can really say how you will feel. Everyone's recovery is different. At two weeks I was on soft foods and felt ok but had zero energy. -
Pressure when eating
Sophie74656 replied to findingnish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is something you should talk to your surgeon about. It is different for everyone. Not really sure what you mean by pressure from eating. If you feel pressure you've had too much -
Diet pills! [emoji381]
Sophie74656 replied to lsubabe33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think anyone should take diet pills. They do more harm than good. But if you are not sure about something then ask your doctor -
I like string cheese, or those round baby bell cheeses. Sometimes if I have a sweet craving I'll have a few bites of a chocolate protein bar. Nuts are a good snack too, or beef/turkey jerky

Help : scared I'm going to puke
Sophie74656 replied to Justaprettyface's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's notthe end of the world. Just wait a bit and see how you feels. And you may indeed throw up. That is bound to happen on occasion. I am 8 months post op and still throw up once in a while -
The only pain I had was in the incision sites. I would imagine a csection hurst a lot more as that is a much bigger incision
