Oh my stars you want what?!

Wow! That's a lot of blood! Talk about feeling "drained"!

Anyone else scheduled for April 16th?

ALL DONE! Was at the hospital at 5:30am, surgery was a tad late...started around 8am. I walked in my front door at Noon. I've been sleeping off and on this afternoon. I had a lot of weird pain when I woke up from surgery (my first thought was, what did I just do?? lol) and am currently having some gas/shoulder pains but nothing horrible. Worst thing is I feel bloated...and I do mean BLOATED, lol. All in all I feel great and I'm ready for my new life! :rolleyes2:

Anyone else scheduled for April 16th?

I'm so excited!! Two more days
  4. April 16, 2009 is my date. I'm very excited!!! I'm more nervous about the pre-op diet then I am the actual surgery. I'm also a little worried about my return to work, my boss is a very demanding (overbearing) guy - and he wants me to have my surgery and return to work in 4 days (2 work days and a weekend). My hubby said if he doesn't like it I should leave, but I don't want to quit my job during these hard economic times...at the same time I'm not giving up or re-scheduling my surgery!

    Really only for "health reasons?"

My thoughts exactly. In my case I'll be happy to get rid of the high BP issues.

    What do you all do?

Accounting manager. I'm actually considering going into nursing. I have a family full of nurses and I think it might be a good fit for me. I guess I'm a late bloomer or something.

    Need advise from the Ladies

Wow, your situation is tough. If anyone had good reason to have an affair it would be you. Your wife sounds like she's turned into a real piece of work. :crying: I'm glad you're getting out, I hope you can do so without losing too much. Like everyone has said, be sure to get good legal advice!!!

Why do women have anal sex?

It's not MY personal favorite, but if I'm feeling particularly charitable, and extremely relaxed I'll allow it. I'm sure my DH would tell you I'm not a very charitable person, LOL.
  9. I'd rather my husband look at porn then chew his toenails....LOL. (Sorry, the toenail chewing is just too funny to pass up) Seriously, my DH doesn't actively look at porn, (that I know of) I trust him so I don't feel like I need to snoop around on his computer (not saying the original poster did snoop...but, I don't dig in emails or check internet history files). I think if I had kids and stuff was saved on the family PC that wasn't appropriate for them to see I would have an issue with it, otherwise I don't think I'd care. As it stands now, if porn is viewed in my home we're both watching. :crying: On the flip side, if he was chatting with women on line in a sexual matter, I would have a problem with that. To me, that's no different then cheating in "real life". Just because it's online and not face to face doesn't make it right. Everyone is different, it is my opinion if your husband loves you, he will respect your wishes. If he knows a habit/addiction is going to ruin your marriage it seems to me he would be willing to get help for it. The fact that he promised not to do it again and did it anyway would bother me a lot more then him actually looking at the porn would. Just my thoughts on the subject.

    I lost 200 in 18 months

Wow! Success stories like this provide such an inspiration for the rest of us. I'm so excited about having my surgery and starting my journey. Congrats to everyone on their success. You guys are amazing.
  11. I admire you, a lot. You do deserve it, just like we all do...it's a shame what society has done to some of us (people like me, with self-confidence issues). I get made fun of because I'm fat, and made fun of when I try to do something about it. My boss even has made comments about my clothing (making fun of the styles etc). He tells fat jokes all the time in front of me....I hate it. People don't realize how much they hurt others, or they just don't care, I'm not sure which it is sometimes. Sorry for having a little pity-party, I know I need to suck it up and stop feeling so damn sorry for myself!

    New Bunny Reporting In

I'm located in Texas, Dallas area. I'm actually going to Oklahoma for my surgery, my best friend had her's done by a wonderful doctor there, and a 3 hour drive is no biggie for the piece of mind of having a surgeon I trust. There are MANY great docs in Texas, but for some reason this guy puts me at ease. I remember going to her pre-op appointments and I had an instant feeling of safety around him. He's just one of those types, comforting with excellent bedside manner. So for me it's worth the short drive. My pre-op diet is 10 days. The first 7 are low-cal, low-carb (shakes, salad, chicken breast etc). The final 3 are high-Protein liquids only (and nothing red). As far as rushing back to work, I don't want to do that either. I wish I could have a full week off....actually, I wish I could find another job. I'm hoping after my surgery when I lose some weight I'll have the confidence in myself to tell this guy to "stick-it" and go find a job where I can be happy.
  13. Hello - I've been lurking around these boards for ages. I've been fighting for Lapband surgery since the beginning of 2008 and now I'm finally scheduled!! April 16th is the day! I'm very excited...but nervous. I have a lot of weight to lose but I have a great at home support system to lean on. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be posting a lot more now that I actually have a date and my journey is officially starting. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

    Lurker Saying Hello

My insurance carrier required it, not sure the reason behind it. I lost like 5 lbs. during the 6 months and I think I gained back 7, LOL. To be honest, I didn't put that much effort into the 6 month thing. I mean seriously, I'm 35 years old...do they have any CLUE how many diets I've been on??? This isn't my first rodeo!!!!
  15. You guys are an inspiration. I'm 5 lbs. shy of needing to lose 200. I'm scared to death I won't be able to pull it off! But you guys give me hope. I just recently purchased a treadmill, I think it will be easier for me to exercise if I don't have to worry about people looking at me or making fun of me. I know that's silly but that's how I feel.

    Lurker Saying Hello

Thank you all for the warm hello's! My doctor was against the surgery, she thought I was capable of losing all this weight without any help. I've been trying to lose weight for 20 years! I finally convinced her I needed her help to be approved. Then, I had a 6 month diet to finish. It was totally worth all the crap I went through to get here, having my date makes it all real! I'll head over to the Bunny Bandsters area (what a cute name!).
