I had my surgery on September 17th, down 27 lbs...had my 1st fill of 3ccs 3 weeks ago and I feel nausious and have lower intestinal pains like I have to go to the bathroom . Doesn't happen every day but this past week it has happened more frequently. Has anyone else experienced this?

The pills should not be larger than a tic-tac per my doctor. Maybe liquid or chewables. For heartburn, Zantac can be split in 2 .

Good luck and thanks for updating me!

I had my surgery on September 17th. Down 22 lbs and haven't had a fill yet. The only thing is that I have stomach cramps, almost like menstrual cramps . Has anyone experienced this?

Question? Where is the port located and is everyone bloaded after day 7? I almost feel like I have me rural cramping . Is this normal? I go to the doctor at 10 am tomorrow but curious. Anyone?

I have a splitting headache today because I know I didn't drink enough water. Sugar free Popsicles are good too

I am trying but it's torture, lol. I am buying soup and even if it's progress light split pea, I put it in my processer (I have the bullet which is great , and I liquify it . I just need to taste something different than protein shakes and broth . It's delicious and I have about a cup. Still losing!

Good for you Willow. This is the most challenging time thus far. I'm on day 5 of my 10 day post op diet and I'm nauseated, lol. I am making soup but I'm done with liquids. I need to crunch! Take your pain meds and take a week to heal. Wishing you the best! I meant Swanie! Lol

I was banded on the 17th of September and I thought I was good to go back on Tuesday which is today but need 2 more days. I think a week is realistic. Good luck!!

Ok, I'm in NY and I was nervous and excited right up to the day..then the day came and I was very emotional and scared which is natural..I knew I would be ok but going under anesthesia is scary, especially because I have never been under general. The doctors do this all the time and it's procedural at this point . Don't worry and good luck!

I'm sorry Willow. I thought you had it done. The posts get confusing at times????. You will be fine! In and out procedure. Where are you located?

Hi, Willow, I am healing nicely. Very tired as I haven't had a full nights sleep since Thursday and a bit gassy as I have not gone to the bathroom since surgery. Otherwise , moving along with the limited amount of food consumtion(broths, shakes, ice pops). Any suggestions for the gas and constipation? Thanks for reaching out!!

Hi Heather, I was just banded yesterday . Everything will be ok. As far as the foreign object in your body..I was nervous too but there are people who have metal plates, rods, pacemakers , etc..so compared to those devices, lapband is nothing! Good luck with the preop diet. It really prepares you for post op diet. Please keep in touch and you can email me directly at starosen@yahoo.com.

HI everyone. My surgery is tomorrow and I'm a bit nervous but excited as well. I followed the 2 week Protein diet/drinks for the most part but did have some sashimi on one occasion (had to go to client lunch). So would anyone like to give me some last minute advice, assurance, words of wisdom :-)? What is the deal with the left shoulder pain that everyone speaks of? Thanks!

Good luck!! You will do great! I am going in on the 17th but having a little problem as my pre test is Friday and nyu did not tell me I would also have to have another checkup with my primary so trying to schedule that befor Wednesday morning as that is the deadline for all paperwork. Ugh! I will have to reschedule if I don't get the appointment with the primary and they are closed on Mon and Tues. what's a girl to do!? Venting!

That's is awesome! I am on day 5 of pre diet and went to a baby shower at an Italian restaurant with meatballs, pizza, calamari and every dessert imaginable. I asked the for broccoli dry with garlic and lemon . Had that and my protein shake. If I can do that, I am on my way! Today going to a Labor Day party. Brough my shakes. Revision..I'm on day 5 , not a 5 day, lol...wish!

September 17th, 1st day of the rest of my life!
starosen posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone. I am so happy I found this app as I am scheduled for lapband surgery on September 17th with Dr. Ren at NYU. This is the 3rd day of protein shakes and I have a wicked headache and of course, I am starving, lol. While I was at NYU yesterday ( I requested to meet with Dr. Ren one more time before I go in), there was a woman who was at reception and overheard her saying how happy she was with her results. I approached her and asked her if she got the band and she said, "I had the band taken out and had the bypass..the band doesn't work and didn't work for my friend..don't do it." I walked out of the office with tears in my eyes. I just need some reassurance from those of you who have been successful with the lapband as this woman set me back a bit. Thanks in advance to all! -
