I'm about 6 months out and have been really losing it quickly lately! [emoji30][emoji30]. I don't think anyone but my hairdresser and I can tell yet, so I'm hoping it stops soon! I lost a bunch after my hysterectomy last summer, and that is growing back. It's a few inches long, so I'm going to end up with many layers. [emoji15][emoji849]

I haven't found the banana again. Sad sad sad day -
Oh how I wish we had Chik-fil-A here!! I have done the pintos and cheese from Taco Bell, chili from Wendy's. Otherwise, I try to avoid fast food. I did have a "peeled" egg mcmuffin today

What was the amount of between your approval and actual surgery?
DaisyAmy replied to reachbree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also put off my date to meet my scheduling needs. I met with my surgeon in October and pretty much hand-picked my date in December to coincide with Christmas break. -
It's definitely hard (and more expensive) if you are trying to avoid leftovers. If I don't want leftovers, I will just order soup, chili, a scrambled egg, an appetizer, etc. I've gotten much better at using my leftovers, but still throw too much food away. Friday's has a new smaller portions menu

I'm in already but didn't give stats. Heading out of town for the weekend so put me at SW 218 and goal 199!!! Probably not attainable but wouldn't it be amazing????? Will be chaperoning scout camp in there, with a mile walk to the mess hall! The downside? Not much control over the menu. Wish me luck!! -
When I feel down about slow progress, I need to remember where I came from. I no longer have diabetes or fatty liver issues and I'm a year out from a hysterectomy for uterine cancer that was likely exacerbated by the extra weight. About 95 pounds down so far. Blessed. ETA - the two years is just a timehop thing. My surgery was Dec '15. I'm 5 months out.

Surgery was today, quick question
DaisyAmy replied to mlgok's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, lots of weird stuff is perfectly normal! Your stomach is pretty swollen now, so even water goes down a little weird at first -

Do you have reflux? Is there alternative treatment?
DaisyAmy replied to NewMeBefore40's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Following. I never had issues before, but I'm starting to feel like it might be an issue now. I, too, am concerned about the effects of PPIs. My mom has kidney issues, so I would like to try to avoid that. -
You are doing what's best for you - what will keep you healthier for the rest of your long life. It simply doesn't matter what anyone else's opinion is! I wish I had had your strength to do this when I was your age.

If it fits in your food plan for the day, I personally don't think it's a big deal.

The BEST feeling in the world post op!
DaisyAmy replied to miss_smiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a flight later this week on Spirit. We don't have assigned seats. I'll likely be stuck in some middle seat away from my travel mates. ---and I'm OK with that!!!--- Granted, it'll be more fun if we can sit together, but if it doesn't happen, it's ok. I am small enough now to not have major anxiety about inconveniencing whoever is sitting next to me on planes, theaters, etc. THAT is an amazing feeling! -
I'm scared of the lunch room at work :-(
DaisyAmy replied to msperez84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're going to do great. Just take your mini lunch in there and eat it with determination and pride. -
If you find yourself in a buffet situation, try to grab a smaller plate from the get go (think salad or dessert area). Tiny bits of many things add up quickly to a huge plate that you won't be able to eat, but you may find that you overdo.

Ditto. I'm sure it depends on your insurance. I have BCBS and was thisclose to finishing my 6 month program when I was diagnosed with cancer. So, I got sidetracked for a bit. (All is good now, just needed surgery), but the good news was, my insurance said my 6 months, tests etc were good for 4 yrs! I would have needed to redo the psych after a year. I only needed about 5 extra months.

Are you taking omeprozal (sp?)? I believe you are feeling hungry (I did), but acid can mimic hunger, too. Also, the liquids just slip right through your stomach, so you might not feel the full restriction until you are more advanced on your diet.

Way to go!! Great accomplishment!

Diarrhea during first few days after being sleeved...Normal?

Alcohol is a hobby in my relationship. Worried. Get sleeved this month.
DaisyAmy replied to Nikkipit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
To be blunt, if what you drink affects your 15 year relationship, you've got some thinking to do. We still go out often. Hubby still drinks what he pleases. I drink Water or iced tea and the occasional cocktail. It simply doesn't matter what we are drinking. I had decided not to let this surgery rule my friends' social lives. We do whatever we choose to do and I figure it out on my end.
