  1. So I filled out my new patient paperwork middle of February. I was blessed enough to be able to be seen at the end of February to kickstart the process. I'm now on month 4 of 7 with all the requirements met except the nutritionist visits. I have to do one a month until August then I am done yay. But I am having such a hard time cutting out the bad things like seriously it is getting terrible

  3. ok guys this might be here somewhere but if it is ignore this and show me to that thread. so i wanted to start a thread on programs. now i know everyone of us is is different and has had a different but all the time i keep seeing people ask well is this ok is that ok well i dont know what does your particular program teach. so here is my deal come here tell me where you are from your surgeons name your nutritionists' names and the hospital also this is a place for the good, bad, ugly, indifferent.

so i will start with me im in baltimore, maryland. my hospital is greater baltimore medical center. my program is called the comprehensive obesity management program. there are 3 surgeons Elizabeth a Dovec she is the head of the program. her and her or staff are all female including anesthesia it is great. there is Dr. Bello. i dont actually know much about this one ive not met him but other people in my program absoulutly adore him say he is highly skilled. and then there is my surgeon timothee freisen. all of these surgeons have taken extra training to make the surgery to make it as cosmetic as possible. my program has its own closed Facebook group. where we have access to all of the surgeons just tag them in a post and they will answer. also the registered dietitian watches the group and answers all our questions seemingly at all hours of the day i swear its like she does not sleep lol. so anyone in maryland considering this surgery i highly reccomend gbmc

  5. I was putting away dishes at 5 dusting the wood surfaces with pledge at that age too by the time I was 7 I had dish days at 10 I was doing my own laundry. I road 5 miles to the library on my own at that age too. Lol but I don't think I'd trust my nieces and nephews to do the same

  6. Ok first I am going to send you a big big hug from where I am to where you are. I am going to congratulate you on loving yourself enough to take this step to change for the better. You can do this. Now for some tips. Sugar is basically cocaine and if you can detox from that the sooner the better and you will be less hungry. Protein is going to become your best friend. Learn how to get it in in a variety of ways. Also there are going to be days when you do amazing at this it will come so easy then there will be others where you will fall into temptation and just feel angry. Let those feelings pass. Acknowledge them then let them go.

  7. Trust your gut. I would switch they are centers of excellence for a reason they are kept to a higher standard. In my state the only hospitals that do bariatric surgeries are bce also there are such things as blue dot centers. Mine is one of those they are kept to an even higher standard and some insurances not only make you go to a cofe but blue dot.

  8. My surgeon is in a program where all the surgeons do extra training to make the surgery as cosmetic as possible. Also I chose my surgeon based on past experience he and I have a very good working relationship he's definitely of the opinion your body your choice if you only want bypass your doctor should respect that. My doctor also did not feel the Need to dumb himself down I am very well versed in medical knowledge and can keep up with the best of them. So please respect me as an intelligent person and talk to me as such

  9. I used to LOVE the children's cherry cough Syrup. Then again, it was the early 70's and the children's cough syrup had alcohol back then. I think we also had lawn darts...
That was also when we learned I was allergic to alcohol. I'd have a cough and take the cough syrup. Then I'd stop coughing but I'd start sneezing. That never stopped me from drinking as an adult, I just don't drink much, and just as I'll be doing with food after my sleeve, I go for quality over quantity. When you can only have two beers, you don't waste your time with Budweiser...

Budweiser is utter garbage. I drink mostly hard cider but if I am having a beer I love a good kiligans red or a Oktoberfest

  10. And when you do well at this, it just might inspire him to seek it too. Sending smiles and a hug to you both[emoji24]

My hubby is actually getting his own form of help. He is seeing a nutritionist and cutting back. We have been eating mostly the same I do think I eat more than him. And this month I gained 1.5 lbs he lost 5.5 I'm super proud of him. If he can do this with out surgery I will help him in anyway I can.
