And to anyone who's a fan of "blow things up movies" this is from Demolition Man (one of my faves): "All restaurants are now Taco Bell. They were the last survivor of the great franchise wars" as Sandra Bullock leads Sylvester Stallone into a super fancy restaurant - Taco Bell!

So if your willing to travel don’t know where you live but Johns Hopkins does a procedure called the epigastric sleeve it’s really new and they basically use surgical thread to sew your stomach into a sleeve it’s completely reversible and would be good for someone your BMI as it is less invasive

I’m sorry chiming in here I’m gender non inanity I go by the pronouns she her them they and I found this to be highly upsetting by the one member because people like me do exist and I feel like honestly having gender restrictive boards creates weird tension for ppl like me commenting

I’m sorry you did not feel listened to was this a one on one or a class it differs in the states you run the gambit of classes to one on ones so here’s the thing dietitians are not drs they have sometimes at most a masters in nutrition so they don’t always go through sensitivity training
-
So I’m expecting an late August or early September date not sure yet but final meeting with nutritionist coming up in a week guys happy thoughts y’all I’ve crossed everything off my list I just need to be approved by her and then finish my online classes then meet with my surgeon one more time then I get a date I’m so happy

You say you moved from Maryland I’m a native I’m getting surgery here at gbmc we have a great closed Facebook page where you can talk to the nutritionist and any of the 3 surgeons pm if you want ok

Ok so I’m in the states but so far I have seen 3 nuts 2 within a bariatric program and one privately and here’s the thing about bariatric nuts they work with ppl like us daily so your nut should have compassion but also no nonsense for bad behavior once you are under their care because frankly this is life or death it’s not a matter of like dislike heck I’m the pickiest eater alive and I can stick to it so if you need recipes I got you if you need to vent I got you ok

I’m super glad it wasn’t your surgeon being the bad one in all of this that is a life long relationship you have with something like bariatrics same as in psych office staff can really be incompetent but hey you don’t go to school for over a decade to work in an office
I’m so ready to feel better!

Ok so I am towards the end of my journey but as far as getting up and moving I get it I have a balance disorder and I’ve torn a tendon in my left foot but I still make mini trips something I’ve learned after having about 8 previous operations and all the talk about blood clots if your having trouble walking just stand every 15 minutes per hour that your awake then progress to stretching at your desk if you do a small stand and stretch you will be increasing blood flow and helping save your back then every hour go to the bathroom just walk to the bathroom or grab Water or something so your moving thruought your day
