    My hubby is excited for me to get the surgery because he wants a little one and he wants to create one naturally if you catch my drift so this surgery should help in that department also he wants me to be happy with my body and right now I am not

    i was going to go with sleeve with my first surgeon and he didnt even go over pros or cons of either procedure.but with my new surgeon we talked for like an hour and landed on bypass i have diabetes and pcos and i would really like both of these conditions to be resolved like yesterday lol

    yes techincally the bypass can be reversed but only in very bad cases and only when all other things and avanues have been tried my surgeon has done over 1000 surgeries and has never had to reverse a bypass. she does however have to do a lot of revisons from band to bypass so she doesnt really offer that as an option anymore

    My surgeon will not remove mine. She says most people have stones and it doesn't affect them so she choses to leave it in

  6. dude i live in md i can tell you first hand go to hopkins they are the best they have the best doctors the best training and the best aftercare you will be treated awesome and not like a child that doesnt know anything because you happen to need surgery to fix an issue i highly recommend hopkins run dont walk

    my scale at home weighs me 5 pounds less to 1 pound less than my surgeons scale depending on how i stand on it i really need a new scale because mine sucks can anyone recomend a good one because i am tired of the decrepencys

    Hello!

    im still pre-op but so far i have told my hubbys entire family and some close friends and my dad and thats it everyone has been supportive but that was when i was considering sleeve now that i have decided on bypass only my hubby knows and i think it will stay that way for a couple of weeks until i can meet with my nutritionist and get a solid plan for nutrition after the surgery so i can reassure my loved ones

    Post Op pain meds for back and joints

    you could ask a pain specialist for a bottle of biofreeze its basically iceyhot with just the cold but you can only get it through a physical therapist office or chiropractor it works wonders for my back pain and i have sciatica on both sides and 3 bulging disks

    hi @mrsmickins i have a similar story to yours ive been battaling with pcos since puberty i was officially diagnosed in 2010 when i was 19 and i also have about 150 pounds to lose i dont have a surgery date yet because i have 3 more classes to complete and my psych eval along with chest x-ray and other tests oh and my insurance is switching first of the year so go me. but hey i would love to keep in touch you can message me on here i always respond to my messages or you can text me ill send you my number in a private message on here if you want

    Willing to mentor. 5 1/2 years post op

    i have not had bypass yet i would love to hear from some vets what to expect that first year or so esspecilly the healing phase because honestly up until this point ive been looking into the sleeve and now i am getting bypass so i am feeling like i dont know what i am getting my self into. how hard is it to get in the Vitamins and Water and Protein at first i have a hard time forcing my self to eat because of an old issue with bed

    my surgeons plan is 3 weeks of no starches and then clear liquids for 2 days which i am so digging because the previous surgeon i was with the plan would have been 2 weeks protein shakes only so the fact that i can eat real food i am totally happy with

    i have medicaid as my secondary so far they have given me no trouble and defer to my primary insurance for everything

    I was told for my height 5'3" that I would need 80 grams of protein minimum and over 64 ounces of fluids a day I have not met the nut yet but ill ask about carbs when I do

    My surgeon does a 3 week starch free diet before surgery and two days before only clear liquids not the worst thing I've heard at all

    Social butterfly after surgery?

    I've always been a social butterfly my mother said I could make friends with the trees if I wanted I've just got a big smile and I love talking to people I love learning about people so I think this surgery will help me be more active with my life but ill still be a butterfly

    RNY 2/7/2012 and still kicking

    im just starting my journey towards getting rny and i gotta say now that ive wrapped my head around the concept im very calm i just cant wait for these next 3 months to pass with insurance requirements and doctors visits i have some stuff i have to do on my part including tracing down a 5 year weight history which might be hard because my insurance has changed a couple of times in the past 5 years but i cant wait till summer of 2017 when i can rock that 2 peice

    Just got my surgery date!

    i found out that with my new surgeon i will get my date the last time i see her also my pre-op diet is very easy just no starches for the last 3 weeks and only clear liquids for the last 2 days prior to surgery i feel so blessed that i dont have to do weeks upon weeks of protein shakes yay

    Down 140 lbs, can't seem to lose last 15lbs!

    maybe this is your bodies new st point after two years im sure you have gotten down your Protein Vitamins and exercise so maybe this is just where your body feels comfortable and honestly you look amazing
