    managing family & friends

I'm in a similar situation with my brother he's an adict and for that reason I need to keep my distance because I just can't deal with his drama. I haven't been in the same room with him in 3 years and I haven't had more than a two minute conversation with him in over two it breaks my heart that the person who I used to call my bed friend is a stranger

    Hello Newbie here..

Thanks Dona. Well so far the info I've gotten from the surgeon is my protein goal and some basic nutrition information I really can't wait to sit down one on one with the nutritionist and game plan how to get in 80 grams of protein with 5% stomach capacity I know where theres a Will there's a way and all that also my food progression is kinda fast after surgery ill be on all foods week 5 after surgery and ill only be using protein shakes the first two weeks. So I'm thinking that I want to get syntrax nectar because the fruit flavors seem so good to me

    Hello Newbie here..

so dona my surgeon dr dovec does her insisons thry the belly button and two on the sides of the stomach for bypass, where were yours done and what did they use to seal them. also my pre-op diet is basically phase 1 of atkins its just 3 weeks of no starches with 2 days of clear liquids does this sound to leanent and should i like maybe do a more liquid ish diet. the reason for her for just the no all liquids pre surgery is because she wants us to always get protien from real food
  16. hi all so i wanted to start a topic on my surgeon dr dovec from gbmc in baltimore county md. quite frankly shes awesome and i feel completely at ease with her as my surgeon and i know that i can trust my life in her hands. right now she is 9 months preggers with a baby girl so i wont have another meeting with her until my final class where i pick my surgery date. also her pre-op diet is like the easiest ive heard of. its just 3 weeks of no starches and then 2 days of only Clear liquids. also i know one of my tags is leaks and heres the amazing thing with her in her 1000 bariatric surgeries she has never had a leak. never. which really rocks. so i know this was a tad long winded but i have a question anyone use my surgeon and what did you think

    Honey?

I was told to stay away from honey because of the sugar content
  18. I have taken gabapentin used to take 2400 mg before I switched to lyrica the weight gain was minimal it can be managed by decreasing your calories a bit its a very good drug. Although I would ask about lyrica because its been way better at managing my pain than gabapentin did

i work i psychiatry and i am a patient my self so i know both sides of the coin in relation to psych meds i know how much they can help and how much damage they can do if they are prescribed willy nilly and as my md that i work for says psychiatry is half art half science you walk this delecate balance with these peoples lives in your hands esspecially the kids. so my heart goes out to the person whos friend committed suicide i had that happen also to a friend of mine and i would give anything to have that friend back
