nutritionist FINALLY agreed to see me.
newmebithebypass replied to mousecat88's topic in Rants & Raves
This sounds insane. I can pm my nutritionist on Facebook. We have access to all our surgeons via Facebook too. And we have weekly and monthly support groups as well as being able to get an individual appointment Sent from my moto e5 play using BariatricPal mobile app -

newmebithebypass replied to Sweettoothless's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You'll be fine for a week. I had to stop my calcium for a bit and change it entirely due to kidney stones and went without all vitamins for 2 weeks because of surgery Sent from my moto e5 play using BariatricPal mobile app -
Fighting addictions pre-op/post-op
newmebithebypass replied to AZhiker's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
So there are ways to get your snack fix without hurting your diet and still getting in protein. Quest makes tortilla chips that are protein based. They are filling. They also make a line of cookies that curb that sweet tooth while giving you protein. Also. As far planned meals try finding things that you can bring with you on the go. I'm finding I'm always out and about. Things that are really good for me I have found are these sargento balanced breaks they are the perfect size for bariatric patients and you can get them in bulk at Sam's BJ's Costco. Also vitamin's. Costco is I've found the best place for them. Sent from my moto e5 play using BariatricPal mobile app -

So my weight loss journey 6 months post op rny
newmebithebypass posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So I will tell you a bit about me and my journey. I am a 27 almost 28 year old poly kink non-binary. Pansexual wife to a pansexual man of almost 5 years whom I've known my entire adult life. I've always been heavy. Both my parents had addictions. My mother passed away in January of this year due to a massive heart attack and the issues associated with that. My father was where I got the obesity from he's battled diabetes high blood pressure cholesterol for close to going on two decades now and had a stroke at 35. I when I was diagnosed with diabetes at 22 decided nope I wasn't going to be my grandma who had strokes and 13 heart attacks mind you she was a smoker. Or my father. I was going to beat this. So I took that nasty metformin. I asked and asked for anything better until about 3 years ago I was put on victoza. Mind you I started with a baseline a1c of 9.7 when diagnosed. This most recent trip to the endocrinologist my a1c was 5.1 so low that they are removing the diagnosis of diabetes out of my chart completely. So in September of 2015 I decided initially to persue gastric bypass. I would later around the time of the choosing of my surgery date begin to have a total psychotic break from reality. I had 4 trips to the psych unit in 1 year. And my marriage got very strained. I also got placed on SSDI disability because I lost the ability to fully function after a long two years of medical and mental battles I tried again this time in a much better place. I had been thru months of therapy I was stable on meds and in a great place. I had gastric bypass on August 28th 2018 I had a highest recorded weight of 311 I had started my program at 280 I had a weight the day of surgery of 274. My 6 month post op visit was Thursday of last week I weighed 210. I've lost over 100 pounds in a year. Sent from my moto e5 play using BariatricPal mobile app -
The mental struggle is real
newmebithebypass replied to ummyasmin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So I am 6 months almost to the day. I went through a really bad depression episode. Mind you I have a truama therapist. A psychiatrist a super supportive family and a host of friends. The day of my suicide attempt I had a therapy appointment in the morning. Yet none of that was enough. I will say to anyone persuing this journey get your mental health in order. I had at the time 2.3 years of sobriety and a social worker. Sent from my moto e5 play using BariatricPal mobile app -
