NYC Sleevers In The Queens Area ?
rgmoe_718 replied to rgmoe_718's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am doing well so far so good. I am now 4months post op and 83 pounds down. I am still in the trial and error process of figuring out which foods I can sit with me and those that don't. I have a lot of weird cravings now and a lot of my favorite foods I don't have a taste for but its like a learning process. I'm just taking it one day at a time. How are you ? Did you have your procedure done yet? -

I am 5 Days post op and I have the WORST gas in my chest coming up to my throat. Everything I try to drink comes back up or just sits in my esophagus like a lump and periodically seeps back up. The only thing I've been able to tolerate is jello and ice pops. I've tried several home remedies to help release the gas but it's not getting me far. HELP ????

How long does it take for the wound dressings to come off ? Dr told me they come off on their own and not to peel them off myself

I am 20 years old I had the gastric sleeve procedure done. My starting weight pre op before the liquid diet was 396. After the 2 week liquid diet/day before surgery I weighed in at 382. I am 5 days post op and my moms scale says 376 ( I'm not sure if this weight is accurate , her scale is always off ) but I will know for sure on Monday my next doctors appointment.

Did anyone feel pressure by surgeon to so bypass instead of sleeve
rgmoe_718 replied to Mayastone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was more interested in the bypass at first, got approved for it and everything but as I got closer to my date my surgeon ran a blood test to check my iron levels because I have chronic anemia. 1 week before my procedure I was told by my surgeon that I should consider the sleeve instead. Me being stubborn I was so stuck on getting the bypass because I thought it would be way more effective in weight loss than the sleeve until he revealed to me that I was at a much higher risk of complications because I'm extremely anemic. I agreed to the sleeve and they resubmitted my letter to my insurance company. Everything went smooth after. -
I will definitely try the gasX as the next option , I really hope it works. Thank you all

I was thinking about this as well. For me I may buy just a few pair of sweatpants sweatshirts and tee shirts because the winter will be here in no time. As far as for work , I'm not sure what size my new scrubs should be.

I am 20 and I just had the gastric sleeve procedure done on September 1st. I spent 2 days in the hospital. The first day I was in a lot of pain post op. They prescribed me morphine which had me in and out of sleep all day. After I was transferred from recovery to my room , I asked if I could get up and walk. That's the key, WALKING. I took (2) 5 minute walks and I began to feel better. As far as pain, the pain came from stiff limbs and gas being pushed up from the abdominal cavity. My second day in the hospital I was taken to an XRay lab to check for any leaks. There were no leaks and my Dr told me I could move on to the first stage of the liquid diet Intaking 4oz of liquid per hour. For me it was difficult to keep the liquids down because the gas in my chest kept on pushing the liquids back up making me nauseous. My Dr prescribed me oxycodon, stool softener, and meds to control nausea and he also cleared me to come home.
