Not all overweight patients have PCOS. A lot of the missed periods can be just attributed to anovulatory cycles from the extra estrogen in your body from the fat cells. As you lose weight you end up with less fat and hence less estrogen which in turn allows you to ovulate. So unless your bloodwork showed evidence of PCOS aside from having skipped periods it may not necessarily be PCOS but anovulatory cycles because of excess estrogen. So losing weight will ultimately help decrease your risk of uterine cancer whether you have PCOS or not.

Will I ever be able to eat Pizza again?
pimmar replied to ThickFit504's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 12 days post op and had a birthday party for my son.....I did well as I ordered soup from Panera to give me an option to eat but when I carried that pizza in my car all I could do was think of the pizza. Didn't touch it and had my soup with 1/2 scoop of unflavored unjury but wow was that pizza tempting. I am usuales a sweets person but even the cake didn't prompt such a strong craving. -

My doc said I could drink 1 cup a day once I started full liquids as I told her usually I like mine with milk. She said as long as it's once a day she wasn't concerned with it which is really what I used to drink before. I said are you sure it doesn't have to be decaf and she said nope as long as I'm doing only 1. I did my first 1 week postop but had a very smaller amount than I would normally have. Also I found out you can add protein to Starbucks coffee which was even better.
-
I had similar pains and I still think they are either hunger or maybe gas but I am one week out and still get them if I don't have protein every few hours. I also would get pain in middle of the night like it if I got up and drank something it went away...I guess I am not used to eating so often but new lifestyle got to get used to it.

To answer Libby's question not everyone has to go through psych evaluation and go through hoops to have surgery. I had my nut meeting via phone and then preop day before surgery, so I got my answer the day before surgery. However I was a little intrigued by the question because I wanted to see if anyone out there had had a glass before the 6 months. I am not saying I will or I won't, as each day is new and there maybe things my sleeve won't tolerate. I occasionally take NSAIDs for bad osteoarthritis...I have not since surgery but my doc said to avoid ulcers I can take carafate to prevent that so I was curious if NSAIDs are ok on occasion why not a glass of wine around the holidays.

I am wondering if any of those wraps like IT Works, would help at all with some of the elasticity. I saw someone's fb who had a list of her clients and it included a gastric bypass client and it definitely made the skin look a little more taut. I might try them and see my surgeon said its ok after a week post op.

Maybe you are drinking too fast...sip slowly. I get a lot of pain if I gulp or drink too many sips in a row....it has been a hard adjustment for someone like me who ate superfast all my life.

I got sleeved 10/13. Mariapimentel@hotmail.com. Not sure I am already in two October groups on fb...

I was also sleeved 10/13 and I am having pain with meals and also randomly at 4am every night for past 3 nights...my doc suggested I increase my omeprazole to 40mg so will let you know if that makes a difference. Well with drinking....still only on clears... -
My surgeon said 6 months! Geeze I would love a glass on Christmas Eve....I will only be 5 weeks post on Thanksgiving... too soon....
