Only 5 weeks into my lap band journey, I have already found that 1. I can sleep through the night without struggling for air 2. My clothes fit me better only with 23 pds off 3. My husband is already paying more attention to me 4. I am feeling more confident 5. I can walk further than I could before the band 6. My car seat belt is looser 7. There is less stomach and more waistline appearing 8. I am starting to feel like a thinner person. Let this be an encouragement to all those who have had or thinking about the band. i live near Knoxville TN. My doc was Dr. Michael Hodge with Johnson City Surgical group of Johnson City,TN. My surgery was on 11/27/07 and my first fill wil be 01/23/08. Good luck everyone!

I have been in your shoes. Banded on 11/27/2007. I have done so very well, no problems. My first fill is going to be on 01/23/07. I am looking forward to the rest of my life. Your journey will go faster than you think...:whoo:

I thought it would be hard to do without solid food pre-op, but after about the third day, the hunger pains kinda went away. I kept myself busy and didn't think about food all the time. which ain't easy....:faint:

i get anxious..wishing i could tell more of a difference. Even a pd a week would be good, but I have'nt had my first fill yet and I know it will go better once I have that done on the 23rd of this mth.

I have only lost 23 pds but I understand your problem. I think we don't notice the other places as much though. My hubby put his arms around me the other night and said he could touch more of his arms than he could before..yeah!:clap2:
