Names of insurance companies that cover the sleeve, please?
Cibaogirl29 replied to sparker525's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
United Healthcare it's not bad, I had access to good hospitals/doctors, but, very high co-pays :/ -
I was cleared for work out, about 5 weeks after surgery, but take it slow, work with a trainer. Explain what you did, just 15mnts (3x a week), at the bike was enough for me the first month, not a lot of energy

I had United Health Care - Oxford, when I had mine. They ask for a lot of proof that you really medically need the surgery, as nothing else has work for you, but once you give it to them, they approve it, good luck -

Sleeved Aug. 3rd- Did you feel like this?

Jackpot435 - I was given a rx for nausea too, you need to talk to your doctor, your nutritionist, or nurse, I had the three, lol They know what you are going through. It is normal not to feel hungry, but you NEED to eat and drink, in order to lose weight, I know it doesn't sound right, but it's how it works. And again, talk to your doc about the nausea, I can't remember the name of the med they gave me, sorry :/ -

Your welcome, hope you feel better soon. And don't forget to let your doc know. Good luck! -
Hi, this is normal, it just your brain thinking that you might be starving yourself. It will take some time for it to understand what you did. Keep going with your diet and exercise. Esp. Proteins and liquids. Good luck!

Hi, it might sound like acid reflux, your body makes the same amount of stomach acid as it used to, but as your stomach got smaller, it goes up your throat. My doc prescribed Prilosec 40mg to take every day after surgery. Still takes it sometimes (2 1/2yrs post op). You should talk to your doc. -
Any Chicago/Illinois Sleevers/Bypass? Pre or Post Op
Cibaogirl29 replied to Sleevemetoo15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, 2 1/2yrs post op, was sleeved in NY, but currently live in Lake County. Best decision ever! Want to wish everyone -
I was also sleeved by Dr. Bagloo, and agree with atontor, she is the best, and so are the staff there. I lost 105lbs in total, in less than a year. So happy with my decision. Good luck everyone

IS THERE ANY LATINOS HERE????
Cibaogirl29 replied to LANENADELCACHEL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I'm also Dominican, I was sleeved 2 1/2 yrs ago. I lost 105lbs in all. I was 256lbs pre-op. My nutritionist put me on a 2 weeks liquids only diet, post-op. Then puree, no rice or Pasta for 3 months! It was hard as hell, but, I did it, I don't know how, but, I did, lol. I used to eat meat and Beans pureed. Also, about 2 spoons of mashed potatoes or green bananas mashed with some meat gravy. Broccoli puree with meat and lots of meat sauce, almost like baby food consistency. It looks bad, but it tasted good, thanks to my mom's cooking, lol I was not allowed to eat salad either. Again, it wasn't easy, but, it worked! Also, my Protein shakes 2 a day, Premier Protein from costco 30g of protein, and lots of liquids during the day, ex: sugar free Vitamin Water. Don't skip meals, eat every 3hrs, even if not feeling hungry. And as soon as you can, join a gym. Talk to a trainer, explain you had the surgery, and work on a routine. Start slow, very little energy at the beginning. I used to do 15-20mnts on the bike at the beginning, and then went home, felt like I was going to die. After a few months, I was doing 1 1/2hrs, cardio and weights Wishing everyone the best. I'm open to any questions you might have -
Birthcontrol depo question
Cibaogirl29 replied to Aribay1's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Yes it is. The Depo was the best choice for me now, as I'm planning to get pregnant soon, but not happy with the side effects -

Birthcontrol depo question

Does the Mirena makes you gain weight? I'm thinking about a non-hormonal bc method like the IUD (Paragard). Have anyone used it, or know anyone who has? -
I'm scared I'll be saggy....
Cibaogirl29 replied to Big Opie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, completely agree with you, and I also did it for my health. I actually found out that I was doing worst than I thought, after having the pre-op tests. Like having high pb, endometriosis, and having foot surgery was not enough, I found out that I had a hernia, and sleep apnea :/ -
How much did you gain?
Cibaogirl29 replied to Banana14's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Yes, I almost got sick drinking the stuff for the glucose, it also tasted horrible, lol -
Birthcontrol depo question
Cibaogirl29 replied to Aribay1's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Ummmm, be careful with the pill, my cuz who had the by-pass, got pregnant while using the pill. I know that everyone is different, but, just to let you know. :/ -

The key is PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN. I know that they are expensive, and most of them taste horrible but they work!!!... My fave are Premier Protein with 30grams of protein. When I get tired of them, I use Pure Protein 35grams. Exercising is very important too. It will not be "perfect", but, you will be able to wear what you want without feeling embarrased -
Hola, yo támbien me operé el 29 de Enero, pero hace dos años, por cosas de la vida, ese día es mi cumpleaños. Siempre digo que nací dos veces, la mejor decisión de mi vida. Espero que todo esté bien contigo

Birthcontrol depo question
Cibaogirl29 replied to Aribay1's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi, I'm on the depo too, doc switch from the patch, bc of risk of heart attacks, loooved the patch. I had my surgery on 1/29/2013, I lost a total of 105lbs. I was 150lbs when I got pregnant, gained 40lbs, kept going up and down, now at 174lbs. And like you, I noticed not losing weight as before with the depo I can't stop eating sometimes, and others I don't eat enough, but, still doesn't seem like I lose any weight. Planning on having another baby, (33yrs old), I think I will get the Mirena or the Implant. -

Cibaogirl29 replied to Banana14's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My daughter will be 1yr old on the 19th. I was 150lbs when I got pregnant, gained 40lbs (190lbs) with the pregnancy. Lost 25lbs before my daughter turned 3 mos. Went up to 170lbs, after staying home with baby, gained 4 more lbs while on vacation. I want to lose 7-10lbs, as I'm planning on getting pregnant again. I was able to eat a whole bagel with cream cheese while pregnant, lol.
