    Scale Won't Budge!

I agree with @@Cervidae I too was very discouraged at 2 to 3 weeks when I was stalling. I lost 14 pounds my first 10 days my postop and then it just seem to stay stuck and didn't move but I could feel inches coming off by how my clothes were fitting. Then all of a sudden at the beginning of the fourth week I started losing again I am in my sixth week as of yesterday and I am now down a total of 27 lbs. A huge # compared to some? No but still a victory for me when it used to take me 3 to 4 months to lose that much. Hang in there were all in this together no one said it would be easy they only said it would be worth it, you've got this Sent from my KFSAWI using the BariatricPal App
  2. Thanks, I was quite offended, not because I actually did have WLS, but because she just assumed because I was fat my surgery must've been WLS. She used to be overweight and lost on south beach, for all I know she lied too but I never questioned or judged her journey. @@bac2u That's me too, I don't want to be known as the WLS girl, I want to be known as me, the woman who has, is and will continue to work hard at gaining and maintaining my health. Sugar free ice cream?

No just sugarfree Popsicles but my family did go to Dairy Queen one night probably about a week ago and got a no sugar added dilly bar there's 5 g of sugar in it and I had about a third of it and I ate the 1/3 really slow just to be sure it didn't make me sick now this is something I would only do like every three or four months as a treat but it was a nice change of pace and it tasted so good and it did not make me dump. 5. I actually had surgery at the end of December to have some masses removed from my ovaries. When I went back to work after that surgery I had already lost some weight and people assumed I was lying about my ovaries. I ended up having a hernia so had to have that removed so I kept with the hernia story the whole time then when I went back to work this week from RNY and hernia repair, I actually had a girl even though she knew I was out for hernia ask me so how is eating do you throw up a lot, how is it going for you I had a friend who had that and she has a hard time eating. It threw me off so of course I was like what are you talking about and she said you know weight-loss surgery isn't that what you had? So even when you try to hide it some people are still gonna make their guesses and still gonna try to get it out of you, I told that girl that I was wondering what she was talking about, I played dumb. I lost a lot of weight before 2nd surgery so I guess people were still 2nd guessing my story from 1st surgery, I think it was insensitive of her to ask me like that but oh well. I'm just sticking with that I just have continued to watch what I eat I cut carbs sugar and pop out of my life and picked up exercise. Maybe someday I'll admit to people but I feel like it's my decision and everyone is so judgmental that I just don't want to deal with the negativity this is all about me and getting my health and enjoying the next 40 years of my life, it's my business how or what I did. 6. Lol. Yes I though the about that later like what was I thinking, but luckily it was ok. It was actually so refreshing to have something fresh like that, so used to yogurt, Beans, cottage cheese, tuna, eggs. It was a nice change. Sent from my KFSAWI using the BariatricPal App
  7. I am five weeks postop yesterday the office had Olive Garden salad for a lunch meeting I was hesitant to try it but figured I would I just cut the lettuce tomatoes and olives up in really small pieces drizzle just a little bit of salad dressing and ate it slowly it seemed to stay down okay and I did not have a stomach ache last night was very happy that I could keep salad down the key is just to experiment try a little of something at a time and to see how your pouch handles it go for it and hopefully you'll be able to eat the salad that you're craving now that I know my pouch tolerated salad I'm excited to start trying to top it with tuna and eggs and eating it for lunch and dinner and seeing if that helps me as well best of luck to you !!!!! any tips for meals or how to add more protein?

My go to lunch now is tuna salad made with Greek yogurt, boiled egg, low-fat cheese then eat a scoop of it on a bed of cottage cheese. Every ingredient is protein, except for mustard and dill relish. Sent from my KFSAWI using the BariatricPal App
  9. I just ate almost an entire 5.3 oz container of yogurt 10 days post op, don't think I really got a full feeling from it yet, is this bad? Should I have been able to eat that much this soon? Are there signs I should look for to know I'm full? Guess I'm not feeling the restriction I expected, but maybe it's cuz it's yogurt not solid food? I've also noticed that sipping drinks is getting easier and easier now too, don't feel it sitting in my chest like I did right after surgery last week. So I don't know what signs to look for now.
  10. I'm returning to work soon, just had post op w/NUT and she wants me to aim for at least 15 grams of protein 5x a day. I work 10 hours a day so 4 of those times will be at work. Any ideas on "easy quick" things I can bring in addition to yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, etc?

  12. Guess I definitely hit the dreaded 3 week stall. Lost 14 pounds at 10 day post op appointment, then 2 more and then it stopped. So 3 weeks out and stuck at 16 pounds. I am getting about 500 calories / 60-70 grams of Protein a day. Eating Greek yogurt, fat free refried Beans, cottage cheese, hummus on soft lunch meat turkey that is easy for me to chew before swallowing. I see Nut Friday, see what tips she will give me to be sure I'm doing everything right.
  13. Thank you. You are right, I should be proud of the 16, hopefully I can report a couple more by next Monday, one month surgiversary. If not I will keep on embracing the stall and remember that I am still down a total of 65 since my 1st appointment at the start of the program (20 lbs pre-op, 31 lbs prior to pre op from January to mid March from no appetite from a prior surgery I needed done prior to RNY and the 16 post op) So I still have a lot to be proud of. Thanks for the kind words !!!

    PAIN!

Your welcome, as there others say, I would still contact your surgeon because it definitely could be something different for each person, but rooting for ya that it's just a stitch that will dissolve and you will be better.

    PAIN!

You most likely have a stitch in your stomach muscle, I had same, it will go away once stitch inside heals. Takes 2-3 weeks, in meantime most of us feel your pain hang in there !!! Sent from my KFSAWI using the BariatricPal App
  17. For RNY peeps, is there a brand that I can use that has the least sugar? I like the taste of Dannon light & fit Greek, but I noted even it has 8 grams of sugar. Mind you I can only eat 1/2 at a time so I'm getting 6 protein 4 sugar in each serving but wondering if anyone has a favorite that's less sugar still high in protein???

    Stage 1 post op diet

Syntrax peach nectar worked for me, 23 grams per serving. Tastes like a orange Julius only peach. You can add Water until you get consistency you like. I also didn't like the isopure at 1st but watered down with half sugar free Powerade helped me get it down Sent from my KFSAWI using the BariatricPal App
