At what point did you notice your weight loss slow down?
Squirrelgirl replied to IveGotThePower's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 11 months post and have been stalled for a month. Like others, I'm sure it will start up again, I started at 380 and I'm at 255 for a 6 ft frame.. I'm looking to lose that last 50, then I can get my hernia and tummy tuck. Sent from my XT1575 using the BariatricPal App -

I have 10. I'm working on my sleeve. I enjoy ink. It's a great way to show an artistic side. I've done my sleeve a little different, I had them all in a henna color outline instead of black..I have a coy going upstream, a lotus( in color blue and lilac) a heart, a skull with rose n bird( my fav) and recently got a dagger , with highlighted yellow roses for my trip to TEXAS, which, I didn't need n extra seat, or extender belt! To each is own with ink, but I love it, shows the talent out there and it's a great accessory. Sent from my XT1575 using the BariatricPal App

Do certain comments bother you?
Squirrelgirl replied to Learningtolive's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Comments have always plague me, the have been in the negative. Now that the good comments are coming, it makes me wonder, was I really that bad? It's a battle, when I was larger, I had a great self-esteem . I was positive and secure about self image. It's only when my life hit a downward spiral of shit that my weight left me hiding, turning to a exovert . I'm just now going out in public, I force myself. I feel like a cabbage patch doll walking threw a small town.. yes, I'm working on all this. ...but I do like the comments, there positive and helps me keep going!???? Really? A half ounce of chicken?
Squirrelgirl replied to LibrarianBecky's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
chicken is my enemy, unless it's ground or like chicken salad where it's shredded. I feel ya. I have seen many sink drains trying foods.. I keep with my soft and luckily seafood settles well. Good luck, it is a process..just went to my NUT to help me and I'm 6 months post.☺ Sent from my XT1575 using the BariatricPal App -
I haven't flown in about 10 years, and I too had to have an extender and had a second seat. But I also had the joy of being told I couldn't sit near the emergency exit. My friend said to the airline chick, " if this plane went down, I'd definitely. Want her to open the door". It was humiliating..the staff on that plane had no empathy. But, I'm flying again in 2 weeks, and there will be no extender, or second seat! Post 6 months..1 goal down! ???? Sent from my XT1575 using the BariatricPal App

Serious & Looking for Mentor But Need Someone Open-minded.
Squirrelgirl replied to Beck90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have an appt with my nut on the 23rd. It's a lifestyle change..it's hard. Everyday. You have to see the big picture.why go thru all this to sabotage yourself. Kudos for " beating your own drum" . I am one of those also. But with choosing that path, realize that with wls, you sometimes need different instruments to help keep that drum beating. Good luck! ???? Alcohol and drugs after surgery
Squirrelgirl replied to jmc534's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think having wls is a lifestyle . and with that, your other lifestyle has to change with it. Choices, good, bad, or indifferent, has to coisign with the new lifestyle. Moderation has always been the best for anything, and along with wls, it definite. Your choice to do wls is the same choice you make to drink or use. It shouldn't be an excuse because you work hard and that is your excuse to use. The big picture should be what you want for your life. And when you use, you lose a little of that life you are trying to change. I wish you good luck in your journey with positive choices to keep your new lifestyle healthy. ????
