Has anyone done the endoscopic overstitch to revise bypass

Hi- just restarting this thread. Any updates from posters? Any new experiences? I’ve gained back 25 pounds and climbing. Sleeved in 2015. Thanks -

Voice Change?
Shainadelphia replied to Mary Sarah Smith's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hello all! As an ex professional singer, and current voice teacher, I thought I'd weigh in. (No pun intended) Haha Yes, if there was extra fat around the neck that would impact the resonance of the voice, affecting the quality. But that's less important as the hormones! Estrogen is released from fat during weight loss, but then there is less in the body at a lower weight. The vocal chords are estrogen receptors, so after weight loss a man might sound lower and a woman higher than when there was more weight on the body. There have been famous opera singers who have lost significant amounts of weight - Maria Callas the most notable. And it was generally agreed she lost a certain luster from her voice. Personally, I did notice a change. I did lose some of the luster from my voice as well. C'est la vie. -
This is embarrassing...I've been MIA for 2-3 years and want to update my weight info in my profile and can't for the life of me figure out how to do it! When I go to profile there is no way to update it - even though I see the info. Then I will post something very profound Thank you!

DS surgery patients...would you do it again?
Shainadelphia replied to onmyway11's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi onmyway, It's a great question. I think I would probably do it again, but I also see the falsehoods in these surgeries. We are all so SHAMED by society and desperate to not feel that way that we basically mutilate our bodies to conform. I did it!! I get it!! But what they don't tell you is that your body wants to go back to the original weight. And that you are setting yourself up for more potential shame and anguish as you gain the weight back. But it isn't your fault!! Your body is just doing what it's programmed to do. I'd like to come to peace with my size. I eat well, I exercise, and that's who I am. I have not gained back significant weight but it's starting to come back after 3 years. And I have to decide if I'm going to live a tortured life of self hate or accept it and enjoy this life while I still have the privildge of being alive. All the best :) -

"Stranger Here" was extremely helpful to me. She had a duodenal switch surgery but same idea.

Just need to vent. It lost 83 pounds in 5 months. And this is fantastic and the surgery is the best thing I've ever done. However. I'm at pret a manger. And there are people eating these amazing salads and sandwiches and I sit here with my little quinoa egg cup (which I can't even finish) and I feel sorry for myself. Why can't I just be like everyone else? I want a nice big lunch!! I needed to complain and didn't know where else to go. Thanks

What does "success" look like to you?
Shainadelphia replied to Nibbler's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel freed as well! My life is not about food food food. When will the next great be? Will I sneak it? Will I wait for everyone to fall asleep? The constant, addictive like obsession is GONE. I can focus on me. On what I think is fun. On my relationships. I hit onederland last week. I thought I'd be jumping for joy but the joy has come a long time before, with this new freedom. -
New to website have some questions

I felt weak for a good month- certainly until I could eat solids. It gets better! -
I had a hard time breathing - make sure to get an incentive spermoter! It will make sure you are using your lungs and don't accumulate fluid in your lungs. I did and ended up in the ER. Good luck!

Shainadelphia replied to CowgirlJane's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
What a great self realization! I loved all of it. I also feel shame about the knee injuries I have - but I keep reminding myself - if I hadn't don't loss weight just imagine how much worse they would be. I love to hear these successes. -

Shainadelphia replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Update - I had already started and am continuing intense weight training and though my weight has stayed the same I have lost inches (that is how I am measuring my loss now, not the scale) I am impatient!! I want to be at my goal right now. -
My sense of smell has gone bonkers.

Right! If we were back in the days of the caveman and we were starving those that had the best sense of smell to find food would out live the ones that didn't! -

I found this too and three months out it is still the case! In fact, I had a favorite essential oil spray I used to LOVE and use everyday and now I hate it!
