I still have a very close relationship with my ex mother in law. She's been very supportive of me through this journey as well. She will be keeping my kids while I'm in the hospital and she will taking them back and forth to school for me while I can't drive. I told my kids yesterday, grandma and grandpa had picked them up for school for me while I was meeting with my surgeon. After my appointment I went over to pick them and discuss my surgery date and all with my ex in laws. I told the kids they would be staying a couple of days at grandmas house. They were excited. I told them I was gonna be having a surgery to make me feel better. My daughter who is 7 has had 3 surgeries and she's also a type 1 diabetic, she spent a week in ICU when she was diagnosed with diabetes. She was worried me liking the hospital food, lol! I told her not to worry bc I would be having special food. She was ok after that. My son is 9, he didn't have much to say other than how excited he was to stay at grandmas for longer than a night. I do plan on facetiming with them or at least calling them after surgery so they know I'm ok.

Elevated Liver enzymes 4 months post op
Ilovecats1985 replied to jgbc85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I currently have fatty liver. I am pre-op still. My pcp told me weight loss can help lower liver enzymes but rapid weight loss can cause elevated liver enzymes. It could just be the rapid weight loss. If that's the case when your weight loss slows they should get back to normal. -
I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri last week. I am still pre-op, I go to meet with my surgeon and set up my surgery date tomorrow!!! Woot!! Anyways has anyone been diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri and how has it been for you since your surgery? Have your symptoms gone away? Were you able to stop taking the medications? Any tips?

Pseudotumor cerebri
Ilovecats1985 replied to Ilovecats1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to see an ophthalmologist, then I was referred to a neurologist. My neurologist diagnosed me. My experience with the spinal tap was HORRIBLE! My neurologist stuck me 6 times with no success, so a few days later I had to go get it done again. They radiologist was successful but the my recovery was rough. I ended up in the hospital from dehydration. I think it was a combo from the leaking spinal fluid and starting the diamox. -
MONEY QUESTION

Lol! It's my husbands insurance. He's a teacher. We've gotten our money's worth this year between me and type 1 diabetic daughter. -
MONEY QUESTION
Ilovecats1985 replied to Miz.Phenom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance covers everything completely. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow to get my date!!!! I will have a $20 copay for tomorrow's visit and I've had to pay 2 other $20 copays. So in the end I'll have paid $60 pre-op and if they prescribe any medication after surgery my co pays will not be higher than $10 each. We are blessed with very good health insurance.
