    3 months post op

I'm 3 months and 50 lbs as well. I'm very pleased with the rate I've been losing.
  2. I am so glad I had this surgery!! At this point in my journey, I am struggling with getting barely enough water. I have found a new enjoyment of exercise and don't obsess about food.

I had a significant gain and was approved with BCBS.
  4. I use Young Living protein powder and it's yummy, all natural and packed with protein. Let me know if you want to get some (I'm a distributor)

    3 months and 50 lbs!

The app is Get2Goal. I love it! It has a cool chart to show you where you fall on the average WLS scale.

What is making my protein drinks foamy?

It's the blender. Try using a blender bottle that you shake to mix. Much less foam.

    Recovery Time?

No way! I work in a hospital. Take at least 4 weeks.

    Recovery Time?

3.5 weeks I felt more normal. The first 2 weeks are absolutely exhausting. You are getting very minimal calories and have zero energy. I had lifting restrictions until 6 weeks. I went back to work (active job) after 4 weeks.

    What Does Full Feel Like?

Lol! Mine was donuts. 7-12 throughout the day easily.
  11. Almost 5 weeks post op. Have had left outer thigh numb, tingling and burning for about a week. Anyone else? Wondering if it's related.

    What Does Full Feel Like?

5 weeks post op here. I never felt full before surgery. Now, I feel it in my throat more than my stomach. Like a pressure not pain. My parents had surgery last year. My mom feels the same as me. My dad sneezes when he gets full. It's so weird.
  13. Having this too at 5 weeks post op. How long did yours last? Mine is painful at times with burning feeling running up and down.

    ALMOST ONE MONTH IN...

Surgery was 8/18 for me. My MD and nutritionist says 3 meals only. Avoid snacks for the most part, focus on protein and water, limit/avoid carbs. I don't have any restriction on consistency of food.

    Vertigo?

I am almost 3 weeks post-op. I woke up this morning with terrible vertigo. I've never had vertigo in my life. Has anyone else had this? I realize it could be totally unrelated to surgery.

I think I will become New Age in my Old Age

I use Young Living and absolutely love them.

    Vertigo?

I've never been on any meds. I typically have a lower BP than average.

    Vertigo?

Probably not the best but I'm trying. Worked really hard on it today so hopefully tomorrow will be better.

    Timeline

Started in September of last year. Insurance required 6 months diet with monthly visits to dr. I used my lunch break for those. I thought I was done in February but the September visit counted as 0 not number 1. Finished in March. Insurance denied in April because of some missing info in my file. Approved in June. Had to wait until my work situation was more stable with adequate coverage for me to be out. Sleeved 8/18... 11 months after I started the process.

    Changing mind during the process

I am 33 and had the same concerns. My doctor and a friend that's a nurse practitioner both told me that the body is kind of like a thermostat... You may lose and gain and lose and gain but generally people stay around the same weight. I knew from watching my parents and my history that this was true. It would take something drastic to change my body's thermostat. My big decision maker was that I didn't have any comorbidities... yet. I don't want to develop them and if I stay at this unhealthy weight then I would definitely develop them.

    Chest pains after surgery?

It's probably gas. Walk around. Rock in a rocking chair. Sip slow and small.

Favorite response when you don't want to tell?

Good point about eating with others! I'm only 12 days out so I haven't had to deal with that yet. And love the name McButterpants ????
